What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I agree. Trek films are usually at least fun, even when stupid. The prequel Star Wars movies are just... not.

The STAR WARS prequel trilogy... is a chore to watch. It also has the distinction of turning one of the greatest villains in cinema into a whiny, teenage brat.

But at least the overall story of them flows and functions better than the sequel trilogy. This is why I can no longer call it the worst trilogy of STAR WARS.

Having said that... I'd rather watch the prequel trilogy than either '09 or INTO DARKNESS.

No the sequel trilogy is far better. but back to star trek.

The sequel trilogy barely qualifies as a coherent trilogy at all. But TLJ by itself is light years better than the entire prequel trilogy put together. The original trilogy is vastly overrated with characters just as wooden as the prequels and Empire being the only good film of the three, though it is still a coherent trilogy unlike the sequels.

Okay…

Star Trek?

Of course, back to the topic.

Pethaps a bit controversial... I don't think it's unusual for Captain Mercer to think highly of Kermit the Frog. He was a good guy to have as a leader. (THE ORVILLE is, after all, very much an homage to STAR TREK.;))

Joking aside, I am curious to see if season 5 of DISCO will actually be absent of a Frakes appearance. If that happens, it will be the first finished ST series to not have him since he was cast as Riker.

(Not a dig at him, because I love his appearances and he's a fun guy. But I sometimes wonder if there is a behind the scenes game between the shows on 'how can we get Frakes on screen for this show?')

To hold that streak he'd have to be in S2 of Prodigy (which is almost finished being made, right?) and eventually appear on SNW, yes?

Warp factor 5, 6, 7, 8!

I think the only left to do on S2 of PRO is post-production, so unless they very quickly add him in, he won't be able to appear on the series if it finishes after two seasons. Unless he's already in it and everyone involved is just keeping it secret.
Also, he wasn't in Short Treks, so if you count that he's already lost his streak.
