He'll get there probably. Looks better in this upcoming episode. I guess what I liked about Shatner was the smile and the wry sort of sarcasm/charm he had. In the one episode in SNW last season, Wesley just seems like he's kind of sour or upset or something. He never smiles. So I created a head canon in which Kirk went on Prozac or started vaping weed between SNW and TOS. That works for me

Maybe they should've hired Anthony Ingruber, who's closer to what Kirk's age should be and was famous for his impressions of celebrities (especially Harrison Ford). As SW obviously didn't want him Trek should've grabbed him. But we've got Wesley now and that's that, so let's hope he gets a more positive response in this week's episode that's seemingly all about him and La'an.

Well, that ship has sailed. So I guess it's time to stop watching.
If these were full-length, 20+ episode seasons, I would almost certainly skip the Kirk episodes. But with the low episode count, you miss a significant portion of the season if you miss even one. But I worry that we're going to get a whole episode of Kirk and La'an and we won't see much of the rest of the crew at all.
Why not give Ortegas a break and let her do something for a change? Think about it: she's a series regular and has she had as much screen time or lines as Wesley's Kirk?
I'm fine were Ortegas is at. Kirk is unneeded so I think I'll skip it.
Well I think the question is, how would Kirk deal with something. I don't hate him as Kirk, just didn't see a lot of what I liked about Kirk. When he is under significant stress in TOS he's got that kind of Roger Moore cheekiness where he is still pretty chill under pressure. Like I said, I'll give him a shot but, I think it's got to be okay to miss certain aspects of how a previous actor played a part. I'm definitely not one of those people who need it to be exactly like TOS but there were things I really loved about Kirk.

Shatner looked older than Kirk's canonical age of 33 in Season 1 of TOS. They don't need to do anything to Paul Wesley.
Which is kind of ironic considering he often looks a bit younger than his actual age of ninety something these days.
