MLB 2023 Season: Rangers are going hunting for Snakes

I saw this factoid and double checked it to see if it was real and it was!

The third highest-paid Cincinnati Red this season is.... Ken Griffey Jr.

Joey Votto is one and Wil Myers is two.

I'm looking forward to that Negro Leagues game between the Giants and Cards next year. The Giants don't really get invited to these special events, but I always enjoy when the two teams play mainly because of the rich history they both have. I think one of the best things Baseball has done was have something like a Winter Classic type neutral field game (Last few years it was Field of Dreams) and I'm glad that is coming back next year.

Cruz just got the Cycle. This really is insane.

12 in a Row for the Reds. Another Winning Streak goes down this week.

That rivalry goes back to around 1890, so I could definitely see it.

I actually thought they already DID a Giants/Dodgers series...was rather surprised to see they haven't.

For awhile I was struggling to think of which series they WOULD do next! I thought it was gonna be something like Rangers/Astros.

The Yankees have finally come out and said that Aaron Judge has a torn toe ligament, and his return this season is uncertain.

Can't wait for all the hot takes about "how can he make that much money and let a toe injury keep him out, what a baby" and whatnot.

The Cubs shellacked the Cardinals 9-1 in London while the other 3 NLC teams not from STL lost (including, finally, the Reds). Marcus Stroman goes tomorrow.

Both Centrals continue to be weak divisions. The Cubs have as good a shot at the NLC as anyone with their pitching coming together, great defense and once again the only + run diff in the division. Of course, that's barring another team-wide slump we're so well known for.

Don't worry, the Cubs are almost guaranteed to sell (much like they did in 2021), based on how they refuse to negotiate an extension with Stroman.

I still remember trade deadline day in 2021; I was in Madison with my now-ex-girlfriend, and my phone kept giving me alerts throughout the afternoon. Every single time I read about a Cubs player being sold off for scraps, I just yelled, "Jesus CHRIST."

My poor girlfriend. It got to the point that she was giving me the bug-eyes.

I know we've seen a few of those acquisitions, but not many. Madrigal has been good this year.
