What Animated Characters Would You Like to See in ST: Legacy?

No, just losers.

You still have Section 31, Season 5 of Discovery, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Star Fleet Academy, so folks who dislike P3 or the idea of Star Trek: Legacy have a ton if alternatives to it, like goodness forbid old school fans who were unhappy with much or all of Nu Trek get a series for themselves and their wants. Let Gen X and Boomers have something.

Then it's not really a loss then.

On a more serious note why don't you just admit you hate it because folks you concider "deplorables" like Critical Drinker and David Cullen like it, and this feels like they are winning if they get Star Trek Legacy, at least that would be more believable then it had bad dialog .
I have no idea who the fuck that is.

I figured it was something like that.

The cult of personality around this people is a little pathetic, really. And the fact that their "fans" expect everyone to know who they are and care about anything they have to say is a little sad.

Wow didn't realize you lived in an alternate universe from the rest of us where the dialog wasn't as good as the Star Trek Picard the rest of us got, where Terry Matalas write it himself unlike our universe where he got mostly his team from 12 monkeys to write season 3 btw.

Crikey. I hope you realize that’s a pretty ridiculous thing to accuse someone of. I have no interest in Legacy because a show following the children of the TNG crew aboard the Enterprise makes the universe feel absurdly small. Jack Crusher was just Michael Burnham 2.0 in many, many ways. Most of my problems with the season stem from that character, and yes, that includes his dialogue. I didn’t hate Picard season 3, but I saw it as nothing more than a bloated tng movie. It’s a better ending than Nemesis for sure, but I do not want to watch a tv series where the only new characters are Seven’s girlfriend and a gaggle of nepo babies.

I personally dislike both of those YouTubers, but I also dislike Steve Shives, that doesn’t mean I suddenly love Picard season 3 because shives hated it. I mostly enjoyed SNW s1, and that saw positive reviews from a few members of the YouTube LCD. Whether you believe it or not, people are capable of disagreeing with you of their own volition. It would be exactly the same as me saying that you only liked Picard season 3 because your favourite YouTubers liked it.

Star Trek Legacy was ALWAYS the plan for Picard Season 3, likely from the very beginning IMHO, Picard seasons 1 & 2 were just Patrick Stewart bait, and once he realized what he wanted was a mistake that wasn't popular, yet still committed to Season 3, he would help them set up Star Trek Legacy.

Do anyone seriously think a petition of 30,000 and 60,000 people would move Paramount when even Discovery as divisive as it is brought Paramount+ MILLIONS of new subscribers.

It was just folks playing their parts in a PR narrative made by Kurtzman, to give it a populist shine, untainted by his own reputation in some corners.

No it wasn’t. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

They produced Seasons 2 & 3 at the same time. This is common knowledge.

Tinfoil.

Do you work for Paramount?

Picard seasons 1 & 2 were just Patrick Stewart bait, and once he realized what he wanted was a mistake that wasn't popular, yet still committed to Season 3, he would help them set up Star Trek Legacy.

And yet.... seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back to back....

I doubt they really give a damn.

Wtf would you be dreading it?

Because Matalas is overrated and would take the franchise down a rather boring path.

the dialog wasn't as good as the Star Trek Picard the rest of us got

But it really wasn't great. Certainly no better then any of the other series. I could actually argue that alot of the writing in the other shows is superior.

why don't you just admit you hate it

Hate is such a strong word. I dunno if anyone genuinely hates Picard season 3. Rather, a great many simple find it somewhat overrated and don't want to see it used as a blueprint for other series.

Probably not.

I feel this way and tend to see the very black and white opinions proclaimed around, either hating or loving the season. I'm rather middle of the road on it, neither hating nor loving it. It has some interesting and well done moments and some moments that are head scratching. It's fairly middle of the road.

If someone says that having Matalas as part of the variety mix I'm open to it. But as the only path? No, I think that misses the point.

Honestly, the whole idea that there's some kind of Matalas v Kurtzman battle for control behind the scenes is total tinfoil. They have different jobs!

Back on the topic of this thread: I think Boimler and Mariner would be easiest since their characters are in going to be live-action canon and the actor ages line up a bit better to how old the characters would be in the post-PIC era.
