Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

The PGA Tour/LIV Golf merger makes no sense. LIV Golf was bleeding money like no tomorrow. Unless the PGA doesn't want anyone looking at their books.

My phone's being a dick to me.

I had an amazing weekend at Phoenix Fan Fusion!
  • Jeremy Renner is obviously still working on recovery, but the fact he was walking is a miracle. He talked about his boss - his 10 year old daughter - and the Rennervations show, which started because he hates seeing older vehicles (like fire trucks) go to waste, so why not fix them up for kids?
  • J. Michael Stracynski talked (as much as he was able to) about the new Babylon 5 animated movie. He also still thinks the reboot will happen, after the writers' strike. He's taking over the Captain America comic soon and will be doing a story about Steve's life between when his mom died and when he volunteered for the experiment.
  • Tom Cavanaugh is a little nuts and very funny. He wants to do a Reverse-Flash spinoff.
  • Grant Gustin is very quiet and says he reads a lot. He's also a new dad.
  • Anson Mount is Da Bomb. He talked about acting, teaching, creating pottery, and how blown away he is to be working on Star Trek. He also got drunk at DragonCon with Jack Quaid and Ethan Peck - I'd love to have seen that!
  • Sonequa Martin-Green is lovely and sweet. She mentioned a game they played on set where if someone "shoots" you with a pretend blow dart, you have to react in some way, and once they were doing promotion to the higher-ups and Anson "shot" her!
  • Katee Sackoff uses the word "fun" a lot. After her panel, they got all the folks dressed as Mandalorians on stage and her with them for photos. It was cool!
  • Bill Shatner is one helluva storyteller. His tale of going into space was magic.
  • ETA: Christopher Eccleston was fascinating. Love that he's a man of principles.

Damn, I didn't realize there were so many cool people there.
I've noticed the last decade or so it's really taken off. When I first heard about it had like one or two significant guests, and now there's tons of huge names there every year. I really need get to one at some point.

Mayor Chase from Blue Bloods is such a prick. He really needs to be taken down a peg. It’s like he’s deliberately trying to provoke Commissioner Reagan every chance he gets. What an asshole.

I went the year both B5 and STNG had anniversaries. It’s a great con.

That's because he is an asshole...... That show just won't end will it? I like it but stopped at the end of season 9 as far as watching it.

Has anyone ever asked to cut in line in front of you at the store because they "only have a few items"? Comes across more like, "I can't wait for you but you can wait for me." Someone asked to do that and blew a gasket when I pointed to the empty self checkout that was four feet away. Even though this person checked out long before we did, he was still being snarky at us afterward.

Occasionally. And I've had people offer for me to go ahead sometimes when I had like one or two things and they a full cart. I've never seen someone angry about it though, especially at being shown there is an empty self check out. What an ass.

He had gotten in line, then left -- I assume to check out the other lines -- then came back, then only asked to cut in line after half our items had been placed on the conveyor belt.

I don't remember if anyone's ever offered to let me go in front of them, but I will never ask to cut in front of someone.

Yeah, every once in a while. It's pretty rare. Usually I don't mind because, well, I'm rarely in a hurry at the store. I hurry enough in life and the store is the one place that I take a few extra minutes and waiting longer in line is a non-issue now for me.

YouTube suggested a video from one of those expats living in China who spread propaganda for the CCP. :wtf:
