News The Disney+ (The New Streaming Service) Thread

Yeah, that's a good point. These days I only collect the Star Trek series, so those have still been coming out. I didn't know that about the Disney stuff, I figured everything still had a multi-media release.
Well that's just double dumb now that I know that.
Netflix use to release their stuff on disc then stopped. For instance I have season 1 of Lost in Space on Blue-Ray but still waiting for Season 2 & 3. Be glad That Paramount + still releases physical media. For now anyway.

As long as they get a good ROI with decent profit on them, they won't stop. Paramount always takes advantage when there's still a market.

Disney has always held its content 'close to the vest' even beyond the Classic animated films (which they always make a big deal of when the do release them on any media format.)

I wish Disney would release their shows on disc. Makes them feel less important in my mind. Not to mention it makes gaps in my MCU 4K Steelbook collection.

Disney has been doing the artificial scarcity thing for as long as home media has existed. "Buy this VHS now before it goes into the Disney Vault!"
I hated it then and I hate it now. Just because that's been their model for, sigh, decades doesn't mean I should like it or even be accustomed to it.

Per io9, we have a full list of all the shows and films that were removed from Disney+ and Hulu yesterday. The list is so long, I won't copy and paste it here. Along with already known Willow, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, and Y: The Last Man, other shows that are gone include Artemis Fowl, Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Journey to Lightyear, Earth to Ned, Marvel's The Runaways, and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

I always meant to watch The Runaways finally but I guess I'm not going to anytime soon...

As an FYI, I never meant to suggest that. I work in finance, I reply explaining the finance side to the best of my ability, but I hate the fact they do this shit.

Same here, since I'm not signing up for Disney+ just to view the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. I would much rather own it. Even without viewing the Holiday Special, I was still able to follow Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, so I don't get that some people have suggested that you need to watch the Holiday Special first (I also haven't seen Infinity War or Endgame and didn't feel confused at all, though perhaps that's why they had Peter sum it up in the elevator scene, for people like me that have yet to see those films). Perhaps I'll buy them along with the Blu-ray for Vol. 3, since I don't do digital movies. I hardly have any games on digital, let alone movies or even soundtracks, since I buy the physical versions of those).

Damn, I've been meaning to watch The World According to Jeff Goldblum, Earth to Ned, and Artemis Fowl. And I only had one season left on The Runaways.

I'm sure people say you should watch the Holiday Special first because
it reveals that Peter and Mantis are siblings, which Vol 3. treats as old news. Plus, it's the actual introduction of Cosmo and of the Guardians new HQ setup, but that's not really any differently introduced there than in Vol 3, so it's mostly the sibling thing.
