Things that frustrate us all

Un fucking believable.

I make ONE tweet, and within literally one minute, three would-be-catfishers ‘like’ it.

These people have no shame!

At least I’ve learned to tell that they’re catfishers… :sigh:

There is a 27th floor in LA??
I haven't been there in a decade but I always found it hilarious how they cheat with their skyline of towers that you see on postcards, posters, even on a Win11 wallpaper. It's actually only one single street and the rest of the city is 2-4 story buildings due to the earthquakes.
In fact, Los Angeles has plenty of high-rise buildings -- and they're not all downtown on Wilshire Boulevard. I live within easy driving distance of dozens of them.

That's about the middle of that building. The Wilshire Grand Center has 73 floors, the US Bank Tower also has 73 floors. Aon Center (formerly the First Interstate Bank building that had a fire on the 12th to 16th floor in 1988) has 62 floors.

Our local village hall has had its defibrillator stolen. There really are some awful people around. Wonder what would be on their mind if they needed one later in life only to discover it had been stolen.

Sadly, that implies that they would remember doing such a thing. Unfortunately, and it's frustrating as fuck, people don't connect their actions to the actions of others.

What makes it worse is so many people don't take reaponsibility for their own actions, which is exacerbated by other people who don't hold people accountable for their actions.

ARGH. Decided to clean the house today--clean bathrooms, vacuum and mop the floor, dust--I brushed a dusting rag over some pictures on the wall and one of them fell off. It's one of the pictures from my wedding--it has all of my family in it. The glass frame broke and little grains of glass went everywhere. So I had to go vacuum AGAIN and then check for all the tiny bits of glass.

I usually clean bare-foot but today I was wearing my fuzzy socks because they're comfy. Turns out they are thick enough, because there were several grains of glass stuck in the socks but they didn't cut me. So being the genius that I am, I took the socks off and tried to pull the tiny bits out with my fingers.

Got one right in the crease of my knuckle. *grumble*

Now I'm on Amazon, buying a replacement frame.

Ow...it's amazing what causes cuts. Hope you're ok.

Thanks. It's tiny, like a paper cut in the one of creases on my knuckle. It's one of those moments where you think, "Am I really that stupid," and the unfortunate answer is "Yes. Yes, you are."
Same. I was opening up a plastic container and the edge stuck so I forced it open and it skipped across my thumb joint. Yup, I'm that stupid and have the feeling of it tugging right now as I type as a reminder.

It's not necessarily something that frustrates me so much as just confuses me. A lot of the sanctuaries are offered "donation matches" and there are two different versions, one the person will double every donation they get that they get, so if I donate $10 they'll add another $10 to make it $20. But there's also a second a version that I don't get, the person will say if you get a certain amount in donations is this amount of time I'ld double it. So for instance if the sanctuaries can get $5,000 by the end of the day, they'll donate another $5,000 to make it $10,000, but what I don't understand is why, if the person has $5,000 they can donate, why they games like that instead of just donating the money. It just sucks, because if they can't make the $$$ for the match, then they're missing out on all of the money.

I'm not sure why they do that, but NPR runs those types of matches all the time. I *think* it's to entice new people to donate.
