I liked that episode, I'm surprised Lauren and Jamie actually did switch to Danny. I thought Carolyn actually needed to play it to save Carson. I loved the Robert Deniro thing. Still have no idea who's going to win. The Yam Yam/Carson/Carolyn alliance seems strong but I doubt they'll let all of each other get to the final.
Is next week the finale or is there one more episode in between?
I like how in the Challenge, Sarah, Danny and Kaycee are all in the final. I hope one of them wins.

The finale is May 24th.
Even though Carolyn's idol wasn't mathematically needed to save Carson, that act earned her social game cred. Her ability to orchestrate the blindside earned her strategy cred. She did an honorable thing that can only help her if she should make it to the final 3. The jury was impressed.
I was starting to think this might be a 2-hour episode tonight since it took so long to get them to a challenge, but it seems they skipped a reward challenge.
I'm not happy with who won immunity, but I am happy with who got voted off.
At worst, Carolyn's Idol play would have forced a tie/revote between Danny and Heidi that would likely have resulted in Danny being voted out, and was therefore her most strategic and necessary move because it showed the jury that she was actually playing the game and would've accomplished what she wanted - eliminating Danny - one way or another.
She also clearly initially voted for Lauren - whom she was pissed off at - as an 'anger vent' before she changed it to the other person she was pissed off at, Danny.

Carolyn is really growing on me. At first I was wondering what the hell was up with her, but she's a real sweetheart who feels her feelings

I'd wondered which name was scratched out. Good for her to work past that. I wonder how long she actually took to make up her mind, as even Jeff was starting to wonder wtf was going on.
I'm trying and failing to recall what Carson did that was extra-deserving of a win, other than that one immunity he won. He's had a decent social game, but nothing jumps out at me in particular.
Agree that Heidi and Lauren are interchangeable. I'd include Jaime as well, as I honestly still can't picture which one of them people are talking about when they just mention names. It's kinda bad when it's this close to finale and I still haven't learned some people's names. All three have done and said stuff that's annoying, and none have impressed me at all.
@Timewalker Carolyn took as long as she did in the voting booth because she was counting numbers.
Whatever her reason, my actual question is how long she took. It was obviously much longer than most people take, going by the reactions of the other players and Jeff.

The producers called her last night to tell her she'd been accepted as a contestant and they'll be coming to the house and her place of work interview her and her family and film her for the contestant profile.
They're expediting her passport and shots and they start filming this fall.
She gets $100 for every day she's on the island and $1000 for every on camera interview that's used in the episodes.

Only $100? That seems a bit stingy, given what some of the contestants go through, and it's been pared down to 26 days from 39. I suppose the show figures it's a free holiday, so that makes up for possible serious injury? (they don't all get injured due to being stupid)
I'm surprised it's only 100, I thought the prize money was descending from $100000 based on your place. I guess for people of just below median income that's at least replacing lost wages.
At current exchange rates, it's about $135 CAD/day, or $18 CAD/hr, assuming a 7.5-hour workday. Minimum wage in my province is $15/hr CAD.
These people are out on the island 24/7, so $100/day USD really isn't generous at all.
As mentioned, I'm guessing they're supposed to consider the "holiday in Fiji" as compensation as well.

Well, she's not using up any vacation/sick pay and as per arrangement, her employer must continue to pay/hold her salary even though she'll be gone 30+ days. I'm sure it's the same with the other contestant.
Now that I think about it the figure I heard for BB was 700 per week.

Survivor contestants are required to sign an NDA before they join the show. I certainly hope the information they (or their spouse) are providing you doesn't end up costing them big bucks.

We are a small group of CBS reality-show afficionados on a Star Trek forum, who watch Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race every season and we discuss them. This has been going on for YEARS, and here you are, new person who's never posted in this thread before, swooping in with unjustified and unproven accusations.
We are not being "provided" with information by either the contestants or anyone connected to them. I don't claim to know if Carolyn will get $50,000. I don't know, and @JirinPanthosa phrased it as a question. We're speculating. I certainly don't know who the winner is, and I sincerely doubt anyone else here does. I just know that I hope Carolyn wins. We'll find out later tonight.
My statement that Carolyn is in the final 5 is based on the fact that I passed basic arithmetic in Grade 1. At the beginning of the episode there were 6 contestants. At the end of the episode one was voted off. The person voted off was not Carolyn. Therefore Carolyn is in the final 5, and I posted that AFTER last week's episode.
It doesn't take insider information to know that 6 - 1 = 5.
