He's back on radio, eh? Didn't take long for him to miss it, did it? Is he just on local radio, or is he being syndicated?
Yeah, I listen to lots of sports radio here and there. I usually DVR Mike and Mike on ESPN2 and watch some of it if I don't listen in the car. That way I can FF through all the commercials and just hit the topics that are interesting or punt it all together if I'm bored (helloooooo, Brett Favre retrospective!!). The rest of the day, I'm not dedicated to any particular show if I'm out, I'll just flip between ESPN, Fox and Sporting News radio and listen to whichever one is A) Not on commercial, B)has a decent topic, C) isn't Stephen A Smith.
I do like Tony Kornheiser's show and often d/l the podcast of it. Like Mike And Mike, I can skip stuff I don't care about and can throw it on the Pod to listen to later. I enjoy when he goes off sports stuff sometimes and just starts rambling about silly real life stuff.
The odd local station that I can receive from Baltimore, DC, Philly, etc., I can't get 'em very long and they can be very static-y. Much easier to just listen to the XM broadcasts of ESPN, Fox and TSN (and the Baseball Today channel). Plus, in most local markets, I don't want to listen to hours of local chatter. When I lived in Atlanta, I didn't want to hear the "SEC rules!!," and "No, way! ACC is best!" crap back and forth between local fans, endless chat about Georgia, etc. When I worked in Michigan, listening to them try to figure out the Wolverines every day bored me to tears. Man - I can't even listen to the local talk in Knoxville about Tennessee, and I went there and have a local interest in the team...but I can only listen to "Ya'all know how good that kid is from Chattanooga Prep that might be our center in 3 years?" in a Southern drawl for so long.
So I like the more national coverage talking about various teams and sports.
