Paramount apparently still doesn't get it...

Their loss. Sombreros as standard Federation starship hull ornamentation would be a quantum evolution and embraced by the fans.

Can we have a poll about changing the division colours to something more tasteful and fashionable?
I'm thinking Mauve, Mint and Salmon.

Remember when they had gold, silver and bronze but fans melted down and now they wear the TNG colours which have remined unchanged for 900 fucking years?

Lets retcon it back to TNG with a Mauve command and Mint Operations on the TNG bridge

If we're gonna fuck it up, lets get it rightly fucked up.

The Academy series was a given because Discovery was shut down and they already had props, sets, etc that could be easily repurposed

I think a lot of people still have a hard time getting the "five new series" concept.

We had five, we're going to be down two (DSC and PIC), and a new one has been announced (SFA). That leaves one more slot. S31 doesn't count since it's now only a TV Movie. They have one more slot to fill for a new ongoing series. it has Legacy written all over it. Or some other 25th Century continuation.

Terry Matalas tweeted something about it being set in the Disco Era when someone asked if it would be a 25th Century series.

Hmmm but that's kinda ambiguous then, could be the Disco era of the earlier seasons, or those of the later seasons...

Then he could've said "SNW Era" or "TOS Era" if it was set then.

DSC Season 4 set up everything with Starfleet Academy over there. So it makes more sense that it would take place in the 32nd Century than the 23rd.

Funny enough, I always suspected the writers of DISCO chose the 32nd century by simply flipping 23rd. Even though the same effect of everything could have been done anytime after PICARD's era... could easily have been the 26th, 27th, etc.

Sorry if I missed something, but why do we think there are 5 slots? Can Paramount still afford that many?

DSC was cancelled because it was too expensive, and if you cut too much down, it wouldn't really be Discovery anymore. I'm assuming SFA will be lower stakes and less expensive. I can't really talk about PIC Season 3 without going into spoilers but, it also looked less expensive, having the TNG Cast was a factor, but without that cast, things would be a lot cheaper for Legacy.
