Vol. 3 mixtape on Spotify.

Very positive early reactions.

With the Red Carpet premiere last night, I figured it's time to start the grading thread in case anyone gets to see it early.

I'm super excited about this film. These characters have gone through such an emotional roller coaster and I know this final adventure won't be holding back at all. I can't wait to see how their stories conclude.

I almost started a thread yesterday when I saw the red carpet premiere was on youtube, but I didn't have time to do it justice.

Agreed. I can't wait for this movie. Even if all of our regular character's stories end here, I imagine there are plans for Adam Warlock in future movies.

Speaking of the Red Carpet premiere, I just skimmed through it and these are some of the highlights:
  • Linda Cardellini is Lylla the Otter! I had been wondering recently if the voice actor had been announced yet, but I didn't want to visit the Wikipedia article out of fear of spoilers. Coincidentally, Laura and Clint's daughter is named Lila...and so is Linda's, but spelled as Lilah.
  • Tara Strong is also in the film but not as Miss Minutes. She said her role is a spoiler.
  • Judianna Makovsky, the film's costume designer, noted that James Gunn wanted the different colored spacesuits as a homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey and they spent a lot of time think about which character would wear what color.
  • Karen Gillan noted that Nebula and Gamora are now in reverse roles from Vol. 1. Nebula is now the kinder, more empathetic sister while Gamora is the angrier, more stubborn sister.
  • Vin Diesel has a tradition of wearing a Groot-inspired jacket to each premiere and then after the screening, everyone signs it for charity.
  • Diesel also noted that his scripts (and only his scripts) have the intended dialogue for Groot so he knows how the specifically convey the emotion of each "I am Groot." Only he and Gunn know the actual intended dialogue.

Oh, yes, I'll be very surprised if we don't see Adam Warlock again.

Any idea if it's a voice role or an onscreen role?

Yeah, he seems like too significant of a character to only appear in one movie. I wouldn't be surprised if they're introducing him as part of a set up for whatever they have planned for the cosmic side of the MCU post-Gunn's GOTG.

I'm pretty sure she made it clear that it was a voice role considering she elicitly stated she isn't voicing Miss Minutes.

Marvel Studios Legends episodes for Peter, Gamora, Nebula, Rocket, Kraglin, and Groot are up on Disney Plus. The Gamora episode is available on youtube.

I enjoyed it. Easily the best of the new batch so far. I appreciated that no one does in it. That would have just felt excessive. The portrayal of Warlock was strange but I suppose he’ll get better in future Guadians movies. The “f bomb” was also funny and the fact it was in such an inconsequential scene made it better.
I really thought Gamora would retain her memories at some point. I would say she might later on but she’s said that she’s done with the MCU now.

I was surprised they didn’t say it was a literal face off when they ripped his mask off.

Just saw the movie and thought it was great. Easily the best of the new fase movies. Minor points, I would have liked it if there was a little more humor and I don't like the music as much as in volume 1. I hope we get a volume 4 soon

Will be seeing it on Sunday, i just hope Gunn and the crew deliver because the movies i really liked after Endgame can be counted on one hand and still have some fingers left.

I don't see myself watching it this weekend. Perhaps I'll watch it on streaming one day.

Couples therapy doesn't always signify rockiness in a relationship. Plus, if her relationship was in trouble, I doubt she'd just casually share it in a funny tweet. Many couples do some shared therapy to work on communication. My wife and I have done it from time to time. I would imagine a couple where one person is constantly on the go, filming around the world, that can be a real strain on communication.
