Well, then, I’m convinced. It certainly earned a place in the history books like all those other ships did.
Historical markers exist for sillier reasons. So, yeah, I don't see the issue.

Surrender of Japan on the USS MISSOURI is considered a major historical event too. So why not Discovery? Because it had a short service life?

The same tabloid told me Papa Johns was actually a time traveler from another universe and from THE PAST so sell your lies somewhere else.

Captain Harriman is way too busy trying to roll back the light-years on the 1701-B's odometer.

Destroyed in action.

Or they were rotating the exhibits, or it's undergoing routine maintenance, or it's on a museum exhibit tour somewhere, or they thought that having the first and second Excelsior-class ship on display was overkill and all those extra protuberances were really a bad idea anyway, and it was stripped for parts and left in a surplus depot somewhere... loads of possible explanations. Not every ship ends up in the Starfleet Museum.

this showed up in my youtube recommendations. A video from the United States Naval Acadamy Museum comparing real ones to the one in Picard.
