Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Post Credits scene, Daystrom station. A man and a woman wearing dark uniforms with a phoenix arm patch stand around a stasis pod discussing if the Phenix Project's latest acquisition is really going to contribute anything to their plans. During their discussion, a shadowy figure can be seen in the background. Near the end, this figure steps forward and we see it's a digitally de-aged David Cronenberg as a younger Kovich from Disco. Kovich then says "I've learned in the right circumstances, anyone can become instrumental to the plan." Camera pans down showing Shaw within the stasis pod. Kovich then adds "even a dipshit from Chicago."
It might actually be something like this in light of today's Section 31 announcement. Post-credits scenes tie into the next entry so this post credit scene probably has something to do with the Section 31 movie.

It's pointed out in the Voyager Episode "The Omega Directive" that more than just Picard had been assimilated by the Borg, and Seven possessed all of that knowledge. Another reason why sending her to Starfleet Academy would be pointless.
The Borg will target lone ships for assimilation, so it's not unreasonable to assume that they might have targeted Starfleet ships in deep space for assimilation. Or sent a selection of new Drones and technology from the battle of Wolf 359 to the Delta quadrant in a smaller Borg vessel.

This argument doesn't work with me, considering how Janeway and even Torres had to set Seven straight on how the command structure worked aboard a Starfleet ship. I'm sorry butI still believe "Picard" should have never made Seven a Commander and First Officer within less than a year after the events of Season 2.

If that was the case, I wish they would have waited for us to see it in the show and then have a title card making said announcement. Alas, not what they decided.

I think this alone will be worth buying the soundtrack for.

Man it's bittersweet this is ending. I wish we would have gotten another season with the old crew instead of the awful first two seasons.

While I think Picard Season 3 would have worked better as Season 1, I don't think they could come up with plausible excuses to "get the gang back together" for three concurrent years.

The TOS movies worked because there were significant time gaps both between movies and within universe. Not to mention the events of Star Trek II-IV happened within a relatively short period of time, so they were all part of the same single adventure.

The gap between the motion picture and wrath of Khan was 10 years I believe. Between two and five it seems like about 18 months passed.
Between five and six there was a jump of four years I think

"You may encounter Enterprise crewmembers who have already been assimilated. Do not hesitate to fire. Believe me you'll be doing them a favor."

"Killed poor Ensign Lynch?" "It couldn't have been reversed."

Picard on possibly his last mission-- hopping on an aging starship with 6 other people hoping to somehow try to reverse the assimilation of half of Starfleet and no idea where to start.

Time to break out the tommy gun. He's gonna need to replicate a lot more bullets.

They know how.

I don't think it's a coincidence Jack Crusher's initials are "JC" ;)
