USS Pulaski could be named after anyone with that last name. Maybe Dr. Pulaski had a famous parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle or even a sibling or cousin or child, niece or nephew even.

Same with me. Always liked Pulaski. Although i hated how she treated Data at the beginning of the second Season, eventually she warmed up to him and treated him better in the later episodes. In retrospect a lot like Shaw and Seven.

Pulaski died between seasons 2 and 3 and absolutely nobody mentioned this? I'd think at least someone would have brought it up if she died. A transfer is just a transfer; it's no big deal. But a death would be a big deal.

I think it depends on how much time passed between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of 3.

No more than a year. Quite possibly only several months. When should someone stop grieving over a dead crewmember and never speak their name again?

There was a whole episode about Tasha's sister later in the series where everyone mentioned her.

We don't see everything the crew does over the years. Maybe they talked about her offscreen.

And maybe it was still too painful for many of them to mention what happened to her (at least during the third season). Especially if she met a violent death during an offscreen mission.

By the way, it would have been a lot more logical to mention the reasons she left the ship, if it was just a simple transfer imho. That didn't happen as we all know...

Well, she is mentioned by way of her memory wiping technique in Who Watches The Watchers. You'd think if the woman were dead, the wording &/or attitudes of that exchange would've somehow reflected it. I just assume her to be an exceptionally aggressive practitioner of medicine, who'd always be on the lookout for the next big scientific breakthrough to be pursued, postings be damned

So whether Bev wanted back aboard, and had the pull to oust her, or whether she just had somewhere else she saw a better chance to study/research/practice, & Bev was looking to come back anyway, it's most likely she went her way to a different challenge, of which I'd assume she could find many

I wonder if all the chief engineers before Geordi all died too. Did Jim Shimoda die? Did Dr. Selar also die? If we’re going by the logic that if we didn’t see them anymore, they died, then there should be a lot of dead Enterprise crew members. I certainly wouldn’t want to serve on that ship.

Seven, I am familiar with, but..."Shaw"?

Never liked Pulaski - not one jot.

Beverly is still my preferred M.D., but I do like how Pulaski both grew as a character and occasionally helped to push Data in the right direction; it would have been nice to see her make a cameo post-Season 2.

Jim Shimoda can never die. He's probably serving on the Hood.

Selar is referenced by name up through season seven, including in the infamous "Sub Rosa" where Crusher has her run a biospectral analysis on Ned Quint and again in "Genesis" when Beverly was going to consult with her on the virus that became known as Barclay's Protomorphosis Syndrome.

Back to the topic, I think it's fair to say she didn't die between season 2 and 3. That being said, I don't think she made it to 2401.
