Playmates Toys

I think it does move but I can’t remember for sure.

hopefully we get an announcement about the “universe” wave 2 before too long and it includes a ship and role playing item. I fully expect the Enterprise D and TNG type 2 phaser if they do those type items again and not just the figures.

Yeah

Refresh my memory, did the deflector part on this toy moveable (like you could raise and lower it)? I vaguely remember seeing in ads that it could move.

I have one of these in my display case, and can confirm the deflector/nose on the defiant is adjustable.

As I recall, it moves about 10 degrees, so is more in the realm of “why bother” - particularly since I don’t remember Defiant ever doing it in the show.

I got my old Playmates D out of storage, and sadly the top is quite yellowed. Great memories though, it was probably my favourite childhood toy.

I also have the DST version which looks great, but I'd forgotten how bad the sound board is on that one. The PM ship sounds loud and crystal clear after 30 years.

The DST one sounds like they downloaded the clips from a 1990s Geocities fan site and hooked it up to the smallest, cheapest, tinniest speaker they could find.

White plastic reacting to UV light.
Weirdly, my Art Asylum Enterprise-A turned yellow practically overnight (well, three months) being packed away in a box because of a move.

I’m thinking I might gold-plate it or something, because I’m not going to try to figure out how to reapply those markings.

Another '90s ship, why not?

I don't specifically remember my painting choices at the time (though I do remember how dead the toy looked with the blank windows), but I assume I must not have had any black paint, hence every room being lit up. :ack:

When you watch Star Trek and somebody says “Computer, lights”.
Home smart assistant: ALL lights.
