Spoilers What are the golems actually?

Caeruleus

Commander
Red Shirt
When we were introduced to the new Picard (golem) in the end of the first season, we got the following impressions:

- The "soul" (consciousness and memories) were transferred from Picard's original body to the new golem body.

- Gollem is actually an undefined entity that, after transferring Picard's soul, evolved into a physically identical Picard as the original.

- Gollem Picard is actually identical to the original Picard, the same organic biological body. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say a biosynthetic body. But his body is not robotically made of a mechanism of plastic, metal and other advanced materials. It's totally organic. It's as if the DNA was copied from the original body into the golem.

- Golem Picard does not have any supernatural qualities. He is mortal as the original Picard.

- When the golem Picard was hit by a car in season 2, he behaved completely human. He fell unconscious. He was bleeding (human blood), and the doctor could not tell that he was doing something different without being a human being.

- Something that is not clear to me:

The human body consists of organs and cells. DNA is our basic building block. And Picard's golem is like based on positronics. What does that actually mean? Does gollem basically have DNA or something else as building block? Is Picard advenced android or actually a biosynthetic human?

- Now another golem appeared. It is a golem that combines the memories and consciousness (in a word, soul) of Data, Lore, Soong, Lal and B4.

- Geordi said a couple of times that Dati was given the opportunity to be different, more human.

- Are Picard's golem different from Data's golem?

Look at the interior of Data's golem. This doesn't look human, organic, biological, or biosynthetic at all. It looks mechanical just like the original Data. It looks like an android, robot. This is Data/Lore interior from the last episode? So by this it seems that Picard golem and Data/Lore golem are completely different by nature and by interior structure. Data/Lore is more like android golem, and Picard more like human golem.

One is a Golem for humans, to hold a human consciousness, the other is for an Android, to hold a Soong Android consciousness. Golem as a term is just Soong whimsy.

So, why Geordi told Picard that this Data is human?

So they cannot even keep this straight between episodes - at the end of six, Geordi explains that Metadata is a mixture of Data, Lore, B-4, Lal and Soong. We hear from Data, Lore, Soong and B-4.

At the start of the next episode that changes and it's Data and Lore in two separate partitions and the B-4 and Soong are just memories...

According to dialogue. It's an image (copy) of his consciousness. So Picard Is dead. There is now only robot Picard. His organic self is completely dead including his original brain and memories.

Despite Kahless, you can get memories and personality from long dead dna with made up star trek science.

Right. But he was still clone kahless. Not original. We are watching a copy of Picard. No organic material exists of him in the Golem.

Trek was copying people into android bodies for years, and Data has been here before with Ira Graves. Picard now being in a new body is really not a big deal, because this has happened repeatedly in Trek. Most notably with Spock.

There’s also no contradiction between episodes — it was established almost immediately that *a* personality was expected to surface in the NuSoong, and at the moment that’s a fight between the two most dominant personalities put into the mix, since the mix isn’t yet leading to something new — Lal was briefly in the sound dub I think, but her, B4 and Alton have all sunk to the bottom as it were. The two who had the longest life as androids are duking it out, and Lore is winning because he has the most experience of having a drive to survive — Data is only given primacy when he can help others, not himself. The drive to protect as it were.
Historically, Data’s survival instincts are a bit… shit. It’s why he’s died twice already.

Not a Golem.

General Picard is a ####.

General Picard wanted a new body that if set to the task can rip a Vulcan into two halves.

Admiral Picard Retired took that combat Chasis, beginning of season 2, and still has it, as far as we know.

That "thing" Admiral Picard Retired is driving, is not made to impersonate human frailty, or limitations, it is there to decimate and exterminate all opposition without mercy or hesitation... Once Jean-Luc finds the Red Settings?

once he has that grey vest on…

I took it that a Golem in this case was was a duplicate of a specific human being, if not in fact, at least in spirit. Non human stuff is used to make Picard seem as human as possible, at least until he lost his Golem body in the beginning of season 2.

When Q returns everyone to the proper timeline, Picard is returned to his original golem state—only Jurati is different because she got there “the long way round”. I suppose it’s possible that Q didn’t have everything revert, but it would be unlike any of his previous interactions with Picard, where he chose to revert things.

A biosynthetic human is more or less the best description.

A golem is more or less the humanoid cylons from NuBSG ala 2005.

- Are Picard's golem different from Data's golem?

Data-Lore-Golem-Interior.jpg

1: Yes, they are different, stated so in the episode. A positronic based synthetic organic body with an Android interface network. The best way to explain it is a hybrid of a Soong type Android and a Soong type golem.

2: This was more of an easter egg, these are original Okudagrams from TNG :)

I was somewhat hoping Q might have clicked his fingers and magically made Picard human again.

Picard was still a golem in the "alternate" universe from S2, was said in Ep 1

The current Picard is a copy, a near perfect copy, but still a copy. There was a big snafu with Mem Alpha that listed him as dead ( Still does) but unlike now, had a new entry with Picard (Golem) Now there just combined.
Goes back to the transporter, does it destroy the original, and make a copy somewhere else ( Like what an actual transporter if it existed would do) or is it the same person just reasembled.

Don't forget Grey from Discovery, They are in a body, but the original died, and the new one just has memories copied from the symbiote to the new golem.

Spock on the other hand did die ( a quite grusum painfull death) but his original body was "reset"? just his memories were restored.

As for Q, I kind of wish he finger clicked picard back to life. Becauase at that point, he was just talking to the copy, just like data's memories in Season 1
