Most Annoying Character is????

James Pike

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Ok.
Here is something that I've wondered what other thought.
Who is the most annoying major character, IE re-curring role.

The most annoying character in ST history for me is Malcolm Reed. He is basically a whiny b!tch

Original Series: Chekov's accent convinced me that Koenig should have been dubbed by Doohan

Animated Series: Arex served no purpose other than to be "not Chekov"

Next Generation: Q was right about Beverly Crusher: She got more shrill every year ... and her kid was even more annoying

Deep Space Nine: Bashir was both an insufferable prig and an unconscionable hypocrite

Voyager: Seven of Nine's superpowers, irresistible or nonexistent as the plot required, grew old rapidly

Enterprise: I wouldn't trust that shitkicker Trip to fix my Chevy Impala, let alone an NX-class starship

Movies: Hawk was there to die; at least Valeris had an actual role

On TOS and DS9, none.

On TNG, its gotta be Welsey Crusher for the first season, and Beverly Crusher for her entire 6 year run.

On ENT, everyone except for Trip.

On VOY, everyone. No exceptions. (No, Q's not a VOY cast member)

1st place Wesley Crusher
2nd place Wesley Crusher
3ed place Wesley Crusher

4th Neelix
5th Major Kira

The Grand Nagus. But I suppose that was the intended effect.
(At least Neelix had cahones).

Lwaxana - I used to dread her appearances, but it's a funny thing; as I get older, I like her more and more, and now am fully in love with the gal. I think it was her interactions with Odo that turned the tables for me.

The Voyager brats.

Wow! I like almost all of them. (Have to agree on Lt. Hawk though.)

I guess I'll explain my hatred of Malcolm Reed. Kid characters are well kids, and kids are annoying so I give them some latitude. Reed however, is supposed to be some great military guy with a family history of serving, ect. They try to make him be some super bad-@ss and when it comes down to it, he cries and whines that he's not good enough. If something happens to him he just gives up. Well, my leg is pinned to the ship by this alien mine. I guess I'll just wait to die. Don't try to cheer me up, I'm in my self loathing pity mood.
Archer should have done us all a favor and let him die out there.

TOS: Probably Yeoman Rand or Chapel.
TNG: I dont know, nobody really irritated me so much i wanted to turn off the tv and fast forward through it. Troi would come the closest.
DS9: No question. Rom all the way. I cannot stand a single moment he is on screen.
Voyager: Neelix when he is trying to be funny. He actually worked better as a dramatic character.
Ent: Never really watched it.

The winner: Not even a contest. Rom simply doesnt belong on a show where the character is actually pretty good and hes a 1 dimensional buffoon. And then they put him in every episode. Note to the writers: Simply because an actor has been playing a background character is not a reason to put him in the forefront. Man, DS9 had a bad habit of doing that.

WESLEY FREAKIN CRUSHER

I kept hoping that on one of the Maquis episodes with Eddington, that they would show a Jem'Hadar assault on a base and we would get to see Wesley mercilessly slaughtered in the most painful way imaginable.

Then when I saw him in Nemesis I cried.:(

Why would you expect him there?

Wesley Crusher. God he was freaking annoying. When their was a Wesley centered episode I would skip it. His mom is also pretty annoying with her "Patients come first even if it means risking everyone's life on the ship" motive.
