Of course. That's all this season is: nostalgia bait.
There is nothing to suggest season three is more commercially successful than previous seasons, or Disco. Being talked up by some people on social media does not equal subscriptions/viewers, which is all Paramount will care about.

Discovery got 5 seasons. That's good for a streaming series.
Ok, well. I do. Kid wasn't a character or even vaguely thought of in TNG all the way to Nemesis, and Picard and Crusher's fears proved too true.
I also count the version of Sydney and Alandra, who were basically mentioned once in the final episode of TNG in a timeline which didn't happen, and never appeared on screen. Especially as the brother or mother haven't been mentioned yet.
While still bitparts (hopefully with a 'for now' caveat) you also have Lt Mura, Lt T'Veen and Ensign Esmar who've been present and active on the bridge as well as having speaking lines. Which tends to credit them as a character, even if we dont know much about them yet. Rest of the Titan Crew have nearly all been extras.
Sydney has turned into a running joke of constantly bringing up the fact that she's Geordi's daughter at every available opportunity almost like the "one time a band camp" thing from American Pie. Alandra just hangs out with Geordi. Neither really count as characters.
T'Veen simply spews technobabble, Esmar's job is to speak other jargon, and Mura stares dramatically. They do not count as characters either.
Yeah. She does. She appeared in PICARD S3 episodes that were all filmed last year.
Haha so everyone's favorite YouTube channel Midnight's Edge is reporting Section 31 is a done deal for a miniseries...
And TrekToday has confirmed the long-rumored Starfleet Academy series. With DSC ending, it makes sense they would start filling up the hopper again with new material.

Seriously, I would have no problem with an S31 miniseries. But I’ll believe it when we get an announcement like SFA’s yesterday.
