I was hoping that the Enterprise-B would have been in the museum too, having been decommissioned but not destroyed. Too many Enterprises have been destroyed for my liking.
At the moment, as far as we know, there's no difference between the SNW Enterprise and the TOS Enterprise in universe. The Picard/Prodigy/LDS art teams just preferred the original over the redesign.
The D's saucer is still around and in the Fleet Museum, per Season 2. Wouldn't take much to re-attach it to a new stardrive section. Anyway, isn't Federation Day actually the 250th anniversary of the NX-01's launch? In that case, it makes sense that the poster shows all Enterprises (why the Voyager is there is a mystery).
Other than the fact it crashed across several miles of Veridian III, Picard himself said it could not be salvaged and acted as a literal bulldozer for entire mountains.
I realize Star Trek is an American show. So I understand why so many of their ships are American centric. I get it.. But it it would be nice to see more ships named after non American origins. The New Jersey? Sure why not. But would of been nice to see a constitution class ship named after something from another country. Before anyone responds with a list of foreign named ships - yes they are some. But as I was watching the museum scene in Picard, I was hoping we would get a salute to other areas of Earth other than the United States... and we get a ship named after an American state.Again no offense to New Jersey or Americans. But how about a city/region from India, or Russia or Canada or Brazil?
Would have preferred a Japanese or other Asian origin one to the New Jersey. The New Jersey has too much history for Americans, not with Star Trek.
No it isn’t. It was specifically stated in dialogue that Frontier Day is the anniversary of Starfleet, not the anniversary of the launch of the NX-01.
Terry says it's for the NX-01. So Starfleet might consider its true origins to be when the NX-01's launch. The New Jersey was a nod to the showrunner. He grew up in the state, and was born in 1975.
That is not what was stated in the show. Terry is just making shit up after the fact. And before anyone comes back with ‘But he’s the showrunner!’, that doesn’t make him infallible to screw ups. I also believe the date for season 3 got changed and they’re just doing damage control.
"There are some" Actually fairly few ship names are exclusively American in origin in Star Trek. In fact, New Jersey is the first unambigiously "American" ship name in Star Trek in a long, long time.
That would place the next episode just days away from April 16, 2401 since the NX-01 was launched from the Warp Five Complex drydock orbiting Earth on April 16, 2151.
