What class/ships would you have Liked to to have seen at the musiuem??

3. Connie ( tos and refit) Shown

7. Intrepid - Voyager (shown)
8. Defiant (shown)
9. Early ships, Ring ship, Conestoga, J class freighter, those can be inside since there small.
10. Some other type of inbetween ships from Enterprise to TOS or ST6 to Tng, some fan designs.

There is a Miranda there. She is between the Nebula class and the NX class.

Probably the only one I'd be interested in seeing would be a Daedalus class which I think we've only ever seen as a model in Sisko's office.

Must have been inside for some maintenance, hence the empty space for the Titan.

I imagine that the appeal of this position for Geordi was not so much the curatorship, but the restoration aspect of museum work. For every beauty he has on display, I imagine he's elbow deep in a dozen restorations and having the time of his life.

Probably the only one I'd be interested in seeing would be a Daedalus class which I think we've only ever seen as a model in Sisko's office.

There's also an etching of one in the Enterprise's ready room in SNW, but it's really hard to see. It's apparently meant to be the USS Essex

Levar basically said (IIRC) in his Ready Room appearance that at this point Geordi has entered into the twilight of his career doing what he loves in a safer setting where he can enjoy having a family.

I can emphathize, the idea of being a museum curator or a docent is *really* attractive.

In STO, Starfleet has replicas of all historic ships, including the different versions of the 1701 (including Kelvin timeline!), which are toured across the galaxy.
In game, when the event is on, they’re at Earth Spacedock and DS9.

So, it’s not inconceivable for the Fleet Museum to display replicas of lost ships.

Hmm, does that mean, like the Bounty having an active cloaking device, that the musiuem ships are like some old planes, meaning "Flight Worthy"? as in its probably been heavily automated, but you have a skeleton crew take lets say, the 1701 A out to different planets for special occasions?
While others are being restored to flight worthiness?

I thought the Trumbull was going to be a Bradbury class, because its registry was so close to the latter ship. Alas, it was not to be.

Well...it wouldn't have ANY version of the Enterprise 1701 because that legendary vessel was destroyed in orbit over the Genesis Planet in 2285. It's...gone. Been gone for more than a century.



As per not having a Connie with the SNW configuration...no big deal. It doesn't have a Daedalus from the late 22nd century nor an Oberth, neither.

No, I meant that if the Constitution class design existed in SNW form prior to TOS, then TOS era may have changed the ship to what was shown in TOS (which seems like a reasonable in universe explanation), and finally, TMP changed the design again to what we know of 1701 from the movies and of course the 1701-A.
So, why aren't we seeing any Constitution class ships in the fleet museum that sport the SNW look?

Its possible none of them really distinguished themselves to the point where they could be worth preserving in that configuration, I just find it a bit odd.

So now, we have 3 different looks for the Constitution class. The SNW configuration may have been 'the original'... then the TOS version (which lasted for a decade or so) and finally TMP version which apparently reconfigured the vessel closer to the SNW configuration.

We know the real world reasons... but it looks like SF and UFP in-universe had a massive Federation-wide different aesthetic look for a decade or so.
Certainly not impossible to pull off with the technology they have... but it just seems... odd? Maybe the TOS era was a Federation wide social experiment which didn't take?

There was simply an established fact that there was a TOS style Constitution class in the fleet museum as mentioned by PIcard in "Relics".

We now know it was the New Jersey.

It doesn't need to go deeper than that.

Maybe the SNW Connie look was like the Enterprise-B variant of the Excelsior-class. A modification that didn't take off and become the standard look. In-universe we've seen literally two like that. The 1701-B and the U.S.S. Lakota some 79 years later. Every other active duty Excelsior seen in the films and series has looked like the original.

But the differential between the regular Excelsior and its upgrade to the secondary hull was minimal at best, and perhaps not deemed necessary with advancement of technology for all Excelsior class ships. So, some like the ENT-B and Lakota had them, but others did not (even though they sported latest internal upgrades which kept the ships on par with modern ships?).

The Constitution class apparently went through massive design alterations some time prior to TOS which led to Federation wide adoption/change in design aesthetic (or at least sections of it).
It could be argued not all of the ships and stations in the fleet changed... perhaps it was a limited change which was witnessed during TOS era.

I wonder if SNW or another Trek series will actively start changing things to the TOS look too but keep other designs intact.
