the concept art for Admiral Pike's uniform looked the same as it did in the movies. So the changes must have been done at the production stage.

oh gods. What if this season ends with them taking the Enterprise D saucer section and "refitting" it into a new Enterprise
Patrick Stewart said this at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022:
Per a ScreenRant article at the time: "Stewart intrguingly revealed that they do return to the "original Enterprise" in Picard season 3, and he also hinted that there could be "multiple Enterprises" seen in the series."

LeVar said the same thing at a con, and also tweeted a picture of something but deleted it quickly.

I thought it was common knowledge that they filmed scenes on a re-built Enterprise D bridge. Does this info need to be in spoiler tags?

I personally do not mind most of the design choices except for the scale of the interior of the ship.
I actually find this SNW set thing both infuriating, and hilarious. It's like:

Disco Producers: We've scaled the Enterprise up a bit. Enough so it just about accomodates the TOS sets.

Fans: Yay! A non-tardis starship for a change.

SNW set designers: Wait, hold my beer...

I find it amusing that in-universe, the monster maroons lasted like 80 years, but now uniforms change every five minutes.
They may not have lasted 80 years in service per se. Hell, the Picard uniforms is S1 are a total throwback to the DS9 S1 uniforms- and had we jumped from DS9 S1 to Picard S1, you might think that one uniform design lasted 30 years.

Starfleet uniform design goes retro once in a while.

I was being tongue-in-cheek. The real reason why the monster maroons (and minor variants of such) lasted so long was because of the 70 year span of time chosen for the setting of TNG as opposed to the TMP movie era. And the fact that they never made any ‘intermediate’ uniforms for the Enterprise-C crew, Ian Troi, Jack Crusher or anyone else who was around during that time stemmed from them having no budget to do so.

They look so good. Still my favorites, and hell, I grew up during the TNG/DS9/VOY days.
