Spoilers The Starfleet Museum

What ships will we see in the Starfleet Museum?

I do find it kinda disappointing that we didn't get any new or unseen designs from the museum.

Would have been nice to see the Pioneer, hinted at in the credits, but even beyond that, there's a massive gap between the NX-01 and the New Jersey in terms of launch dates.

We could have seen ships from the Romulan War! Kelvin era ships. Hell, would have been the perfect chance to see a Daedalus in the flesh.

I'm sure we're going back to the museum, if the rumors are true, so maybe there's still a chance.

I agree. Many of the ships were pretty disappointing. Other than seeing the Enterprise-A, Defiant and Voyager, most of the other ships were pretty forgettable (and if they chose to prominently show the NX-01, that would have been on my list too, but they chose instead to keep it in the far background and not refer to it.)

For what it's worth. Terry Matalas shared this on his own Twitter feed and seems happy about it. Canon? Technically no, but hey, works for me.

It was destroyed?

Well consider the fact the E-F supposedly was comissioned in 2388, and the Sovereign Class is still in active service..I'd say the E-E isn't around anymore. It got pretty badly messed up at the end of Prodigy Season 1, so yeah..

Not looking good for the E-E..which is a shame, the Sovereigns are a looker.

I kind of expect to see it added to a "Starfleet Museum" listing or backstory in the future, thus canon-ized

Was there a Defiant at the Museum too? Which, I'm pretty sure was in Prodigy as well?

Excelsior and Stargazer are pretty prominent at least.

I'm not sure why there needs to be two Akiras and a transport varaint of a Miranda. It was a shame they didn't make it the Bozeman.

I was referring to the ships Jack and Seven were singling out.

Agreed about the 2 Akiras, and also the Saber and Nebula. They could have made better choices there IMHO.

Maybe the Nebula is the Sutherland and its in the museum due to its role in the Klingon Civil War.

IDK, speculation and headcannon gets weird.

I would think the museum ships are basically just mock ups at this stage. Nothing is really functional anymore. Look at USS Hornet or USS Missouri in real life, those are not functional ships anymore. All the sensitive materials have been removed. So I am a little surprised they could use the cloaking device from the Bounty…LOL, it is Hollywood after all…
That is true. And I was just on the USS Iowa in LA. That's not going anywhere unless it's being towed!

However, there is a difference. The historical naval ships you can tour are owned privately (well, outside the USS Constitution). While the Fleet Museum seems to be owned and operated by Starfleet. So, they may want to keep them functional in case a need arises.

I'll be honest, not a fan of creating the USS New Jersey. Would have far preferred one of the Connies mentioned during TOS.

I will admit having the Constitution being the Hood would have been a good tie in..with Daystrom and all.

In the old novels the Yorktown was the only other TOS Connie to return to Spacedock intact so that could have been the route they went with this ship. Although that brings up the whole "if the 1701-A is a renamed Yorktown does that mean THAT ship was a new build and not very old and thus the second Yorktown" argument that is rarely worth the time and trouble of getting into.
