Yup, exactly unlike that! It would have been a nice addition certainly, but even in this context I don't think it would have clarified anything for anyone. It's essentially the same information that was in most of the press/promo copy of the time, with no elaboration on what a Sith even is. It could be interpreted as Vader's species, his homeworld/nationality, a made-up word for "black magic", or any number of possibilities. IIRC, I think the annotated screenplays that came out in the mid to late 90's with snippets of the earlier drafts were the first time any mention of the Sith as an opposing order to the Jedi really got out into the wild, but largely went unnoticed or ignored until TPM's novelization came out ahead of the movie and George got around to lay it all out.
What a terrible episode. An almost complete waste of time. The only high point was seeing Ahmed Best. The rest was one of, if not the, worst episode in this show's run. Bleh.
Other than whole never showing your face thing, there's really nothing bad or evil shown about this group of Mandos. They don't stifle individuality as every Mando has personalized armour, they're open to aliens joining their ranks, even former Jedi Padawans. Even rescuing those baby bird dinosaur things. Heck even by the end of this episode Bo Katan seemed to accept being with them and maybe even respect them. Trailer spoilers Spoiler IIRC one the trailers shows the Mandos helping on Nevarro against possibly the Pirates from the start of the season Not at all. It's all character building and evolution including Bo. The series doesn't have a motive right now. Grogu is back, Mando is a Mando again. Until there a new purpose given except more episodes like this.
I liked it, and I liked that Bo Kataan is starting to accept the people around her as a kind of family. One of the strongest impressions I felt from her in the series is how she sat alone on her throne, in her large empty castle, just doing nothing. I imagine she just remembered how things once were, and so Mando, in a sense, pulled her from that pit of nostalgia, and took her where her talents would be useful, and she wouldn't be alone. So I thought this episode was very good for character building.
Apropos of nothing; I like how they just straight up invented Mandalorian applause as them clanging their vambraces together. Tiny bit of world building, but very fitting. My only concern is how much is she still motivated by ego and ambition. It's hard to gauge right now if she's planning to manipulate the situation to get herself an army of fanatically loyal followers.
Maybe, we'll have to wait and see. I do like the idea that she really feels at home with these people, and builds her trust as part of a group instead of needing to have full control of every situation.
Oh yeah, I'm aware of that, but until something contradicts it I tend to incorporate it into my Star Wars. Glad to know there's at least one other Rise of Skywalker fan here. Really enjoyed this episode. The Order 66 flashback was definitely the highlight, especially getting to see Ahmed Best as a kick ass Jedi, who got to save Grogu. I never watched Jedi Temple Challenge, so this was my first time seeing Master Beq. It was cool getting to see a few bits and pieces of what life is like in the Covert. The stuff with the Raptor was pretty cool, and was a nice chance for Bo Katan to really solidify her place with them. I'm kind of starting to wish we could get more creatures that weren't vicious monsters that our heroes end up having to kill. I am glad they at least saved the babies. And before someone comes in to give me a history lesson, I am aware the heroes fighting these kind of monsters goes back to the old Flash Gordon style series the franchise was inspired by, but that doesn't change the way I feel.
Pretty good, to damn short .. 28 minutes? Really? It's not a bloody cartoon.. Liked that Ahmed got a good role. And Mace cought a passing speeder..
It was an ok show. My kids never appreciated it though so it fell by the wayside in viewing. Pretty sure the first episode was this length.
Black History month is only 28 days, Carl Weathers only gets 28 minutes for his episode, this just ain't right!
Best’s Jedi character shares a last name with Best’s cameo character in Attack of the Clones https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Achk_Med-Beq Best has said he considers the two to be related.
That was fun yet also a tad forgettable. Nice to see some Grogu bits, I expected him to freeze the darts in mid air as well but the flip and triple tap was just as cool. What I don't understand about how Mandalorians eat is, how do they know when it's safe to come back to the fire? What is Bo-Katan is a really slow eater?
Maybe they yell ahead asking if you’re decent Wait, they can’t remove their helmet, but can they remove the rest of their armour? Do they have sex with the helmet on? Paz’s kid was called a foundling. Is he actually just his adopted kid not biological?
