Well, one of Canada's largest railroad companies, Canadian Pacific (CP Rail) is set to merge with an American one, Kansas City Southern, and together they'll have the only railroad linking Canada, the U.S and Mexico, which should have some huge ramifications. It's cleared regulatory hurdles and will come into effect next month. The interesting thing in all this has been the battle between CP and Canadian National, the other major freight operator in Canada, and their bid in trying to woo KCS, which they almost succeeded until regulators sided against them.
