I'm trying to remember season 2 as I haven't seen it since it aired..but I remember thinking a lot of things didn't make sense. 7 signals were seen by the federation before the season 2 premiere...the 7th signal is the one Spock saw in the season finale..how does this make sense?

Unfortunately, it really doesn't make sense. You just sort of have to roll with it.
Trek: it's a Helluva drug.
The one thing I'll say for Season 2 over Season 1 is it all kinda falls apart right around The Red Angel/Perpetual Infinity, which makes the two-part finale a bit of a rally. This stands in contrast to Season 1, which I thought (despite some minor complaints) was pretty much fine until we got the last three episodes).
It's a really, really bad sign for a show though if you have an entire episode worth of time dedicated to one character trying her hardest to explain to you why black was really white all along.
Unfortunately this is sad but true, and frustrating.
More so that what they hope will happen, that monies will go to another project, may not happen because of how tight and money losses streaming are right now. Current productions may stay on the air, but replacing Discovery is doubtful.
Yeah, I don't think there will be another new live action show for awhile.
And when they do start developing one, I think there is a valid case that throwing more money Michelle Yeoh's way would be a better return on investment than what these particular fanboys probably want.
I agree with you, but their line of thinking doesn't really make sense. There is a higher chance of a franchise project they do like if the franchise remains successful. A franchise show bombing isn't going to make the network/streamer want to throw money at another one. Put it another way, it would be like celebrating Nemesis doing poorly at the box office because you don't like the director and expecting Paramount to then gamble with another expensive Star Trek movie right after that.
You're looking for rationality in the middle of a very big emotional reaction.

Well, good 4 u, you noticed I was wrong. However, given that post was a week or so after Disco's ending was announced due to budgetary reasons and there was a lot of talk at the time questioning the future of streaming television in general, I stand behind my post even now knowing I was wrong.
