Underrated, maybe. Especially Season 2. There's a reason why "growing the beard" is a trope.Controversial: I think that Seasons 1-2 of TNG are it's best.

There were a few clunkers in the first two seasons, but at least things seemed new and exciting. The crappy episodes in the last two seasons just highlighted how creatively exhausted the production team was.TNG had some awful episodes but let's be frank: they weren't ALL confined to just the freshman and sophomore seasons.
He didn't have the same chemistry with Patrick Stewart but on the other hand he didn't pick on Data. Wait... Which Doctor are we talking about now?Matt Smith.
You're not the only one. Check this out: https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/star-trek-how-dr-pulaski-helped-the-next-generation-find-its-feet/I'm on both teams for different reasons in the same way one can love both Pike and Kirk.See? I know how to Treksplain my way out of anything.

It gave us "Elementary, Dear Data," "The Royale," "The Emissary" and "Peak Performance" if nothing else and I'll defend Dr. Pulaski to this day. She was abrasive and essentially just a female Dr. McCoy retread but she worked, and Diana Muldaur gave the role her all.
