Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I'd have thought that any future series would be produced in Toronto on the former Discovery stages, so it's probably not a surprise the sets were struck.

It must have been an additional expense to shoot in LA for Picard, but I'm guessing it was a stipulation for Stewart.

I’d prefer a series set in the furthest future (in this case, the 32nd century) essentially doing exactly what SNW is currently doing: Various episodic adventures on the Enterprise.

Even though I enjoy SNW, I’m just tired of Trek wallowing in previous eras. Even though DISCO (IMO) never reached the heights of past Trek, I loved that by being set in the 32nd century they essentially had free rein of where to go with minimal baggage. Plenty of opportunity to explore that universe. Oh well. Oh well.

It's a real shame that the sets were struck. Industry-wide belt tightening underway.

SNW may be the only live-action Trek for a while. How spoiled were we?!

Different strokes for different folks but having 3 live-action series was pretty damn cool for the history of the franchise.
Meh. We used to get 48 episodes a season back in the day. 30-35 episodes a year is hardly history breaking for the franchise....:D

They should have just continued it during the Picard years. The 32nd century was boring....

As are Harry Kim and Naomi Wildman.

Not to mention Neelix who is just actually just the reanimated corpse of the original Neelix who died in Mid-2374.

Harry and Naomi are not copies. Everyone was halved. Equal and original. Like on the farscape episode. Lmao

While it wasn't green lit for 3 seasons (as far as we know) it was said in interviews that they had 3 years planned if they were allowed.

You contradicted yourself there.

They were duplicates, but quantum duplicates so they were completely identical to each other.
Halved is not equal...

I'm joking..in the Farscape episode the main cast except one was "TWINED". They were all EQUAL AND ORIGINAL....both considered the original. So basically halved. Both contained original matter.

People on reddit claim that subtitles spoiled (didn't see this myself despite also watching on subtitles)

the subtitles here in Canada just say 'Whispering voices'
We watched with subtitles here in the US and just saw "whispering voices" too.

Sci-Fanatics on youtube has dropped the remaining episode titles for the rest of the season:

Episode 6: 'Bounty'
Episode 7: 'Dominion'
Episode 8: 'Surrender'
Episode 9: 'Vox'
Episode 10: 'The Last Generation'
Episode 7's title is definitely one to conjure with.

Halved is not equal...

In that Farscape episode they were shown to split. It was a reference to that episode. Excellent episode from that show. They were even shown to have a mental connection. Hence both Critchtons playing rock/scissor/paper to constant standstills.

You and I recall this episode very differently.

Both contained original matter.
That's not a half. That's a duplicate. A copy.
