Spoilers Picard Season 3 - Preview Photos/Videos Thread

It's funny how they're writing Raffi like a young, naive apprentice character, and she's a grandma..

I love the Samurai version of Captain Worf, it's just such a bizarre pairing with Raffi. Perhaps it will pay off.
Not sure what her age has to with it. You can grow, change and learn at any age. Worf obviously has and sees in Raffi his younger self.
It works well on screen and the actors enjoyed it.

Indeed, especially with the outsider aspect, and Worf's own personal family struggles. I like that he can serve as a mentor to her, perhaps more positively influence her by learning from his mistakes.
Worf was never junkie who destroyed his family. So Raffi and Worf are nothing a like.
No. Worf was a poor father who was constantly avoiding his responsibilities, and killed the murder of his partner and mother of his child in revenge. He is not the poster child for stable family relationships. Unless we are judging people on one mistake like Raffi in which case Worf sucks because he is a terrible father.

I love that Raffi is as old as she is in this sort of archetypal role. Just goes to show you're (almost) never too old to apprentice in fresh worldviews, perhaps even careers!
Hey it's Worf. ;) On DS9 Jadzia Dax had a 300 plus year symbiote with tons of military experience sharing consciousness with her; but Worf still handily beat her in every sparring match they had, even as she was trying to give him advice on how to hold and fight with a Klingon Batleth.

Lore on the right... and another synth?

People are complex they aren't just one thing. Worf doesn't have to be an addict or have a trouble relationship with his family to see something of himself in Raffi. To think so, shows some very limited and narrowminded ways of thinking.
Though Worf and his family do have a tortured relationship. Especially him and Alexander.

It’s going to be interesting to see where the next six episodes take us. Cause this weeks episode definitely felt like the end of act one/Arc One of a three act play.
I think they might head back to Earth to brief Starfleet on the Changelings. Probably bring Geordi and Deanna into the loop. Maybe Lore as well, based on his and Geordi's scene in the trailer.

arc 1 was 1-4, arc 2 is 5-8, and arc 3 is 9-10
I hope that this is true. I think that episodes 1-4 have been like one long padded out movie. It would be cool if episodes 5-8 were like a whole new movie continuing the story in a slightly different tone and style, and then an epic grand finale in 9-10 to satisfyingly wrap things up. It would then almost be a trilogy of ‘acts’. I hope that we also get to see more creative/visual variation between episodes, so that they stand apart more whilst still being one continuous and coherent story.

What did you think of Picard's f-bomb? It felt unnatural to me. In other words, it stopped the scene for me.. no flow. Sometimes the word is helpful and meaningful, but here I felt forced.
