    I agree.

So here is my theory: after the Dominion War ended and Odo rejoined the Great Link, he tried to reform the Founders and the Dominion into a more peaceful and just society but some of the Changelings rejected him. They were filled with anger at losing the war and at S31 trying to wipe them out. They were hell bent on revenge. For the first time in the history of the Dominion, unity in the Great Link was impossible. The rebel changelings were excommunicated from the Great Link. Separated from the Great Link, the rebel changelings started suffering madness and even physical deterioration.

This might be why Matalas said that we would emphasize with Vadic. She is one of these rebel changelings who was forced out of the Great Link and is now suffering physically and suffering from dementia from being disconnected from the Great Link. So we don't approve of her revenge plot but we can sympathize that she is not well.

But they'd have to charge it every 300 miles, and then it would light itself on fire. It's a whole thing.

I think the hand is part of another Changeling. We know they're a telepathic species. My guess has always been that the parts of a Changeling's body must communicate telepathically, cells in a liquid aren't permanently bonded to one another after all. And when existing as a delicate object like a glass, if that object is smashed they can reassemble themselves (Odo did it!).

This also explains why they can maintain some sense of 'self' while in the Great Link and how they can put themselves back together again after being drops in an ocean. Maybe the telepathy can work over longer distances too. We don't know the extent of their abilities.

So, when this part of another Changeling is connected to Vadic, as a hand, she can control its muscles via her impersonation of a humanoid nervous system. But because it's part of another Changeling, she can't control its morphing ability, which is why she had to cut it off to get it to revert to 'goo' form.

The rest of the other Changeling is probably hanging out in the Rebel Link.

Maybe the female Changeling was using this ability during the war to contact home, we just didn't see it.

Interesting. Could it be that Vadic is a changeling possessed by a pah wraith (maybe even Gul Dukat?), considering how demonic the floating head and it's voice were like?

Maybe Jack is also possessed by a prophet or pah wraith, considering his dark and unsettling visions ...

Gul Dukat would be great, as would Vadic being the female changeling. The problem is, neither character has any history with picard that we know of

I know you're joking (I hope), but as an owner I get really tired of the "Tesla fire" trope. Statistics show that:

So, yeah, the vehicles that have tanks of highly flammable liquid are the ones that catch fire more often. News outlets simply don't find it a story when a Ford Taurus is aflame. The Tesla thing is just misinformation spread by people who have an agenda. And by now I'm pretty sick of people with agendas spreading misinformation to fit their narrative!

Someone asked me the other day if I liked my Tesla (Love it!), and if there was anything bad about it that I could tell them. After some thought, I answered "Elon Musk".

Not sure about a Ford Taurus, but the more infamous exploding car, the Ford Pinto, still needed help to burst into flames. It needed to be rear ended. However few Teslas are burning to the ground are doing so completely on their own.

Yeah, at this point, I'd be a bit disgusted with myself for buying anything Musk related. But I have no interest in an EV.

Terry Matalas posted on twitter that Vadic is a Changeling and that she does not have a special hand. And the masked gang on her ship are also changelings.

An infant changeling turned Odo (who had been transformed into a solid as punishment by the Founders) back into a changeling. Assuming this ability isn't limited to only working on former changelings, for all we know Vadic is a solid who was transformed into a changeling.

I'm of a mind not to take directors and producers completely at their word until the season being discussed is over. There is too much investment in building plots, secrets, and surprises to ruin them.

I doubt he would have said anything if Vadic being a changeling was meant to be a big twist.

Vadic's identity and her being a changeling (which narrows her down to really being the female changeling or just some other changeling) has now been rendered somewhat irrelevant due to the revelation that she has a boss who's calling the shots, and this boss is likely the one who has the history and vendetta with Picard.

    Well, there’s only three possibilities:

    1. He’s telling the truth.

    2. He’s being coy, but it’s more of a subterfuge than an outright lie.

    3. He’s just outright lying.

If it’s 1, I consider myself disappointed. Not just because Matalas doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of spoilers, but also that this revelation is itself quite disappointing. If it’s 2, I’ll be content to wait it out to see where he’s going. If it’s 3, 50% of me will be happy that he just made up some bullshit to throw us off the trail, and 50% of me will not trust anything he says after that.

Then why do they just wear masks when they're trying to raid Beverly's ship and kidnap Jack? Why not just shapeshift into the form of a Starfleet special ops team - or perhaps even Beverly's own former crewmates - and claim that they're taking Jack away for protection?

Everybody knows that changelings can look like literally anyone and anyTHING they want. If it was just a bunch of changelings trying to get ahold of Jack, there's hundreds of ways they could have done it without just putting on a bunch of awkward masks and come in shooting. Hell, they could have taken the form of a bulkhead on the Eleos and taken Jack without anyone ever knowing. So the mere fact that they haven't gotten away with this, kind of shoots the whole changeling theory in the foot...

I think Commodore Oh and her sunglasses way back in Season 1, despite having ingrained Vulcan eyelid protection for sunlight, established that Trek villains use rule of cool over any practicality or common sense.
