The Peacock Battlestar Galactica remake is dead, is it?

Starz is bringing Spartacus back to “explore uncharted territory and new journeys of the original series’ iconic characters.”

I Am Legend sequel in the works. Michael B. Jordan to join Will Smith. Will use the alternate ending of the first movie instead of the theatrical cut ending.

Good. HBO should be making more original programming and not going all in on constant reboots like everyone else. HBO is suppose to be of higher caliber than most other tv shows and they need to act like it.

The tv prequel to It has been ordered to series; I can’t help but wonder if it’s a bit superfluous, given the rather good Castle Rock tv show. https://www.empireonline.com/tv/news/andy-muschiettis-it-prequel-ordered-to-series/?fbclid=IwAR3uyifyleTr4cABv77FeG90vIHd_RQ5GC8yqLTIKMTQAoRwQFo37b6TozQ

Rather than double post, I’ve edited to mention that WB are planning more Lord of the Rings films (which will be separate from Amazon’s tv show) https://variety.com/2023/film/news/lord-of-the-rings-new-movies-warner-bros-1235533672/

Anyone watch the True Lies pilot? The wife seemed more suited to be a spy than the husband.

Now that CBS is trying to turn movies into episodic procedurals, what's next? Sixth Sense is an easy one, helping a different dead person every week. They can put it on the same night as Ghosts.

But what about Armageddon? A different asteroid every week! Imagine an episode with an asteroid made of pure chocolate and one of the astronauts is diabetic!

Invasion of the Body Snatchers the tv series week.

Season 1 is about our heroes investigating the mysterious deaths and weird alien goo while word leaders and even people they know start to change and act out of character.

Season 2 is when you know about the aliens and start to fight back. They loose. All our characters get absorbed. Except for our 1 main star.

Season 3 and final season-It's 10 years later and we see a world much like the one at the very end of the 70's movie were the aliens have won. Only thing is something begins to change as the aliens begin to experience emotions and feel the things the humans they copied did. Only this is happening with some aliens and not all of them thus creating a civil war between those with emotions and those without.

Our one main star who has been hiding for 10 years comes out of hiding to help the emotional aliens because one of them was a copy of his wife. Even though she is no longer his wife she is still starting to get feelings and memories that she had before being killed and replaced.

"Now"? TV has been turning movies into TV shows (with varying levels of success) for a very long time. It used to be cheap knock offs but It hasn't been that long since since we got fantastic adaptations of Fargo, Hannibal, and 12 Monkeys all at the same time.

I was originally going to mention this as a movie that absolutely nobody was asking for: Bob Odenkirk is starring in a remake of Tommy Wiseau's cult classic bad film The Room.

According to an article in Variety, it's being done to raise money for AIDS charity amfAR, so I'm not sure what to make of it.

Sounds more like a cheap fundraiser parody than an actual, for public consumption, movie. The article says almost the whole thing was filmed in front of a green screen two months ago.

Last Action Hero would be a goldmine. The action star and the kid go into a different CBS show every week.

Meta satire of "bad movies" in general would be my guess. It would be funny if the movie was about Bob Odenkirk as Bob Odenkirk playing himself in a remake of "The Room." Making fun of bad movies and pointless remakes and cult classics.

Amazon is remaking Dead Ringers as a series starring Rachel Weisz. Comes out at the end of April. Don't know if it's a weekly or an all-at-once drop.

Showtime wants to turn Gattaca into a show.

Anyone watching True Lies? It's the most CBS show ever. A significant portion of the dialog consists of characters explaining the obvious to other characters who already know.
