Season 4 = Poor

Yes, they're human beings, they have feelings.

As I said before, my issue with Season 4 isn't so much that the crew talks about their feelings all the time, it's that the crew all has basically the same feelings, and they all talk about their feelings in exactly the same way.

Pretty much every heart-to-heart over the course of the season could be exchanged between any two random characters, and it would play off almost exactly the same way.

Wait, season 4 is like that also? Oy vey! Yes, you are right, they are all saying the same stuff to each other, over and over. Every season has it's clunker of an episode, but I sure hope that clunker hasn't become the theme for the entire show. And there doesn't seem to be any respect for rank and command. Someone gives an order, and there are quips, one liners, and the what for. What happened to carrying out orders or you are relieved of duty?

People talked back to Kirk sometimes too.

As long as the task gets done I don't care what the attitude, quip or one liner is.

Now, after watching the next episode, where they find Starfleet, I see they got scolded a couple of times for their lack of discipline. So this is by design. Also, a much better episode.

Exactly. They all gush over eachother when they are in scenes together. It's like they all have perpetual emotional lumps in their throats. Even when they aren't crying it's like they are on the verge of crying.

It just seems like they completely forgot about decorum and answering orders with a "yes sir!"

That's more like it! Take that hill, and no crying! And put down that bag of chips, Tilly!
Remind me to never serve under you.

Because, yeah, that's the BS that 24th century humans had evolved past, according to Picard when Q showed up in a USMC uniform.

The writers can write whatever they want, but they would never be able to run a ship that way. And that hurts the show.
