According to the Star Trek Picard Logs on Instagram, they mention the "late Altan Soong" meaning he died sometime between Picard Season 1 (2399) and Picard Season 3 (2401).

Picard Season 3 has got to be later. Raffi's grandchild looks at least Kindergarten-aged by S3, and wasn't even born in S1.

Her grandkid is also half-Romulan. Maybe Romulans grow faster like every other species seems to.

Does anyone know if the FreeCloud name in Picard is basef off of David Bowie's "Wild Eyed Boy From FreeCloud" off the Space Oddity album?

It is not really spacey like "Space Oddity" or "Starman," but the name being the same stuck with me. Hadn't listened to that album in a while.

We're supposed to believe Jack Crusher, who looks 35, is at best 23. Ages and how old people look mean nothing. They said it was in 2401/2402 so it is.

Clearly they injected Raffi's granddaughter with the same stuff they gave Alexander throughout his appearances across TNG and DS9.

I'm surprised no one has speculated that those weird masked aliens that comprise Vadic's crew might be Breen.

Not that I think they are, but it would fit with the Dominion War tie-in, and since the Breen look was always just their suits, it's pretty easy to modernize them with a new design.

My two initial reactions based on sound and outfits was The aliens in Schism, but I seriously doubt they would go there. The other was the Breen even if the sound and costumes are different.

That might be how we see Commodore La Forge, although he's supposed to be with the Fleet Museum right?

Early reviews said that the episodes are grouped into 4 episode arcs. So presumably next week we'll resolve the Battle of the Ryton Nebula, and there might be a time jump going into episode 5 where an offscreen court martial happened, etc.

IIRC the early reviews suggested that both Episodes 4 and 6 ended with pretty dramatic turns which marked logical breaking points in the narrative.

Ok...so here is the only important question for me right now:

Should I stop watching the show before the writers ruin my new favorite character? (its shaw)

How much confidence do we have that the writers know that this show desperately needet an antagonistic allie, who is right and shows us the flaws of the main characters? Will Picard be the new Burnham who was too often right despite acting selfcentered? Or will this turn out to be better?

Will shaw be Shran? Or will he become Dukat?
