OMG, how many ads can Paramount+ cram into this Ready Room episode? It's a full on 15 minutes of ads, sometimes after just 30 seconds of the program before another ad... so annoying.
I was watching it on startrek.com, since that's the only place you can watch it internationally other than Facebook. I think they're also uploaded onto the paramount+ youtube channel for Americans.
In the interview, Matalas said he viewed one story arc from TNG as the major unresolved "hanging chad" he wanted to resolve. Was ye referencing the JLP-Crusher non-romance or something else?
If we take "story arc" literally, TNG really only had three of them: Q, Worf's shit with House Duras/Gowron, and the stuff with Sela. The last one would be the only reasonable thing to include here, given Unification II ended it with kind of a whimper.
Perhaps. But it does not matter now. But since Denise dies not appear this season, anything with Sela is gonna have to be in passing, off-screen, or taken up by someone else.
I always viewed Trek as having three things that really stuck in my craw. All 3 invilve how a crew goes out. 1. TOS TV show cancellation. No proper send off for the TOS Crew. The movies and Undiscovered Country absolutely fixed this for me. 2. TNG era ending on Nemesis. All Good Things was a masterpiece. Nemesis was a whimper. I hope Picard S3 gives the crew the sendoff they deserve. If indeed it IS a sendoff. 3. The last episode of Enterprise. Ending it one episode sooner would have been great. But their last episode being TNG based was a slap in the face in my book. Berman viewed it as a love letter. IDK if this can be fixed. At least not on a grand scale like the first two. But a SNW or a DISCO S31 show could try in an episode. T'Pol could still be around. I get that some put Rios, Soji, Jurati, & Elnor in the same category. But I liked where Rios ended up. Certainly happier than he was. And Soji, Jurati, and Elnor could all makes appearances in the 25th century. Too soon for me to get upset about that. And Rios, Jurati, and Laris in particular had loving send-offs.
That's all completely fair. I am 100% in the camp that no crew deserves anything. If it ends, it ends. TOS getting TUC was icing, not needed. TNG having any films was completely unnecessary, so to me TNG ended with AGT. ENT ended with Terra Prime.
Fair. But having TOS go out after TUC was a lot more satifying than if they went out after TFF, don't you think? Deserves or not. Ending on a dud sucks. It does not have to be a home run (TUC, AGT). Endgame & What You Leave Behind were not fantastic, but more than satifying enough. But ending on Nemesis, TATV, and Turnabout Intruder was just a downer. As would have been TFF.
I mean...I guess? I thought TFF ended well enough and TUC ended equally ambiguosly so I'm not sure if I was more satisfied by either. I can see your point. I don't share it at all but fair enough.
They actually became the Borg. *- and no not kidding. They were planning to bring them back as adversaries, but it was spelled the Practical and visual effects needed would be too costly to do for some of the follow-up ideas they had.
I just finished watching this interview with Ed Speleers I liked how he talked about his daughter drawing the Enterprise and showing off her artwork. And enjoyed working on season 3 and working with Gates McFadden and Patrick and Jonathan Frakes.
