Who do you think will die from the main cast for S3 of Picard??

The sacrifice trope is hardly new to Trek. Spock. Data. Trip. The Android girl in Disco. Tallinn (sp).

Hugh, Tasha, and Jadzia just get killed.

Absolutely. And because it’s also borrowing pretty heavily from TWOK, TSFS and TVH, I fully anticipate there will be something akin to Spock’s demise. A bit more permanent if it ends up being Riker.

Actually, I think Shaw will not stay a villian long. He'll have some depth. He won't die with people disliking him.

They've said the character is modeled after Quint from Jaws. We're probably going to get a "We delivered the bomb"-style speech from him vis-a-vis Wolf 359, then he will be bitten in half by Vadic.

My money's on Riker. Picard is probably off the table, so the sacrifice of the next most beloved character is where you get the big feels. He and Troi can reconcile just before he dies to twist the knife a little more.

Worf, Seven, Jack, and Raffi are probably safe due to spinoff potential. Shaw's almost certainly a goner. Deanna lives because there's no way we're leaving Kestra an orphan. Everyone else is a toss-up.

My friend showed me a review on Youtube of the first episode from one of those people who claims to have seen the whole 10 episodes (Dave somebody). He said they Troi and Riker stuff isn't another Han and Leia from the Star Wars sequels situation where they're divorced and one dies and that it ends well. Obviously who knows if he's telling the truth or just hedging his bets on something he's heard.

And if we're talking about actors wanting more, Jonathan Frakes has been liking a bunch of stuff about a Riker spinoff so there's that. But of course, we have to take the actors' words and wishes at face value.

My money is still on it either just being Worf going down in a blaze glory or none of them die.

None of them die.

TNG Actors told as that they are ready for more after Star Trek: Picard season 3. Maybe a movie. So it has no sense.

Well, Stewart, McFadden, Sirtis, Ryan, and Hurd have all openly talked about reprising their roles after S3.

In what series?

This is PIC's last season, and apparently there won't be any more Short Treks or (non-Kelvin) movies. So what's left?

Yeah, there’s this thing called an NDA. And another thing called press junkets and building excitement. Fans would be up in arms if they said, “Yup, my future with Trek is done. Can’t tell ya why though.”

I think it stems from the fact the showrunners have been saying S3 would "shake up" the Star Trek universe. People interpret that to mean someone significant will die.

Also Matalas’ comment “safety not guarantees” regarding if all of our main characters will make it out alive or not.

Does this rumor about a main character dying have any reliable source? Where does it come from?

Several remarks Matalas made, the most direct one being one where he explicitly said that “one or two” of the TNG cast members who have been very vocal about wanting to do more Trek in movie form etc “might have been projecting” because Spock came back from the dead in a Trek movie, too. And he said there are always ways to bring a character back from the dead.

I’d pay no mind towards what the cast are saying. It’s the usual promotion hype stuff. Matalas is the spoiler fountain, not them. They’re just doing their job promoting the show and saying it’s the best thing ever, etc. Saying “oh by the way my character dies” would kill (forgive the pun) the excitement and hype.

Worf (he'd want to die with honor as a warrior).

Riker (it would stab Troi in the heart -- pun not intended).

Possibly Shaw (it's either that or he comes riding in to save the day on the Enterprise-G).

Beverly (it would kill Picard ... figuratively speaking).

I still think it's going to be Raffi. She'll do a Spock and save picard and whatever ship he's on at that time. She'll also say "KHAAAAN!" for good measure. Lol

Disco did the "bury your gays" thing -- and the fans spanked them for it.

So, no.

I could see it being the most unlikely one. Like Picard or Beverly. Geordi would also be a good candidate. Maybe doing something to save his daughters.

Riker saying “this is the end” in that last trailer feels like such an intentional mis-direct.

Geordi's daughters have the same names they did in the AGT fake future. Does he also have the son that he had in that ep?
