The EM models I mentioned - did they make a TOS Dreadnought? If not, it was made for this.

So Shaw said he's been commanding the Titan for five years and completed 36 missions. given that the Star Trek Picard Logs state that the Titan-A was launched in 2402, it gives reason to believe that the events of this episode take place in at least 2407, maybe 2408 which means six years have passed. that's a helluva timeskip.

Do we meet a Chief Engineer and Medical Officer for the Titan, or is it just the Bridge Crew?

Seven said engineering is mostly automated.
I suspect the ship has a minimal crew.

Nice nod to the Captain of the Enterprise-C.

    I'm impressed, I gave it a 9.

Loved all the TOS style ships pictured in the closing credits.
    :techman:

Can we assume that the villainous ship at the climax is Romulan in nature?

Also, that is one Hell of a Big transporter Weapon.

It was fine. I'm not sure I quite get the comments the past few weeks about this being the second coming of Christ yet, but those people saw the first 6 episodes, so maybe it was just a slow start.

Frakes is on point, the ship porn is pretty nice and it's nice to see Hurd given something to do again after season 2.

Writing-wise it was a little clunky. Characters just stating exposition and motivations at each other, without even a semblance of subtext, and I thought the opening scene was really rough. There's decent groundwork here though. 7, for now.

This is better than First Contact so far.

On a TV Scale, I give this a 12 out of 10. For reference, I gave "Calypso" an 11 out of 10. This is off the scale.

On a Movie Scale (I expect more from movies than TV), I can't rate it yet, since this is just the first 10th. But, so far, I like it better than TMP, TSFS, and TFF. I still like TWOK, TVH, and TUC better, but it's bubbling just underneath them. This "film" is already in the upper echelons.

Looks like a Commonwealth vessel at the end.

It was alright. I’m a bit confused with the Titan. He says that it is a refit but it has a letter designation and a different class name. He must have meant it was a refit of the A since he had it.

So the big weapon is a wormhole weapon. Scorpius must be the big bad. Should just use Red Matter.

Looks like an offshoot of a Type-14.

Funny, I now know what Raffi feels like once she gets a fix.

I needed me some new Trek.

    I really, really hope so.
Like, I get this guy has got demons from Wolf 359, but he just seems like one more piece of evidence for the fan-theory that Starfleet doesn't require trauma counseling for its people. Every time this guy spoke to Seven, I had Kirk's line from "Balance of Terror" in my head - "Leave any bigotry in your quarters."
I had in mind that Shaw probably would lose his position by the end of the season anyway, since I doubt any spinoff would give the lead to a brand new character, but right now, I'm less "this probably has to happen for plot reasons" and more actively wishing for him to catch a phaser bolt to the neck. Despite what Matalas has said, I don't see myself coming around on this guy.

Really liked Seven calling Picard out on his BS. And whoof...whatever the hell the weapon was that transported that Starfleet building over an occupied city, that was hella horrifying. Definitely interested in that bit of the plot. Overall, I didn't think this was as strong as the first episodes of the prior PIC seasons, but I'm also expecting things are going to stay a lot more even as we move forward than in previous seasons.
