He makes a lot of good points, this is something I'd love to see developed more and maybe colour displays in this format.

I thought it was a great idea, and I liked me e-paper reader when i had one, but then I don't have one now, so I suppose I did not like it as well as I thought. but the battery life on those things were incredible, and no glare.

Never had any issues with my Kindle. It is there to read novels, and it is great that I can adjust the font size as I get older. Comics and magazines are perfectly fine on a tablet (I read on an iPad).

I mean the scifi version of these is the bendy flexi which is like an electronic piece of paper. Tons of movies and shows have shown us these and that's the kind of thing I'd like to see considering how low power they are but it just never happened, or didn't happen on a wide scale. I am sure there are prototypes of that kind of idea.

Well, first of all, it's a niche market. Niche markets in general don't see huge leaps in innovation. The very idea of e-ink itself is revolutionary, and it is its main selling point. It does one thing well, with the purpose it was set out to do. When using an e-ink device, I don't find I'm in need of more features. Most of the improvements have been in the speed of the display. And yeah, of course it has drawbacks, just like anything else, but they are great at what they are. I understand wanting to push the envelope, but those that want more out of them will be frustrated.

The one analogue I can think of comparing it to would be consumer telescopes. That particular industry hasn't seen a whole lot of innovation. Depending on the type of telescope, it's usually simply point and observe, but there's always one of the big companies trying to make something innovative that doesn't inherently stick, the latest being mobile-device guided scopes using an app. But purely, the telescope is just that, a telescope made for viewing stars and planets.

Well you do have spotter scopes and such, I have a neat monocular which has a decent range, and have played with a small table mounted scope made for Moon watching.
