Honestly, I only posted because people started talking about rules. I'm not going to be entering or voting.

It wasn't meant as a dig. Though I accidentally used the Ezgif link which expired soon after, but I've fixed that now.
Ah, okay.

I've actually worked on productions of some of these, but Sweeny Todd isn't one of them.

My five cents on avatar contest rules: Within the overall general rules used across the whole forum (size, theme, etc.), it should be up to the host to decide on specifics beyond that.

For instance, I specify non-animated avatars when I host simply because I find it godawful hard to deal with a screenful of jerky, repetitive images. This is why I rarely enter or vote anymore, since there seems to be a bias in favor of these repetitive animated entries, not to mention angry demands to explain why I want non-moving entries if I should happen to win and host the next contest.

I can think of lots of possibilities to enter, but won't, if I'm expected to make them the kind that literally give me a headache to look at.

Oh, and a further five-cent opinion... I see nothing wrong with multiple entries of the same musical, as long as they're not identical to someone else's entry (ie. Tevye's "If I Were A Rich Man" is iconic, but there are lots of other great images of Fiddler on the Roof that could be used).
I have to admit it seems really odd to have avatar contests full of animated gifs when the actual poster avatars here are basically still photos.

They could be animated when the forum was still vBuletin, and mine was an animated smiley - a small, round, yellow farmer sitting on a tractor, caught in a tractor beam from a passing starship. I had that one for years, but the thing is, it was just a smiley, not from a TV show or movie, and it wasn't the sheer sensory overload I get from the jerky, frenzied TV/movie images many people post for these contests now.

Okay, everyone....Can I have your attention! You two in the back, if you have something to say, I think the board would like to hear it. Ok. Settle down.
No more avatars will be accepted. The voting post will be up tomorrow night, God willing.
You, quit pulling on auntiehill's pony tails and you! I told you Kai would hit you if you kept teasing her.
