From CNN: This really makes me sad. I really liked him---most of the girls in my high school (way back when) had a huge movie-star crush on him. Mt Baldy is such a dangerous place to hike--two people have already died there in the past 4 weeks. With freezing temperatures and high winds, I don't think it will end well.
Nick Stahl's drug problem is not the same as someone disappearing while climbing a notoriously dangerous mountain in the winter. Julian Sands is not hiding out, getting high. He's not just hanging around. He's probably seriously injured or dead.
To save y'all a click, the article says a body was found but there is so far no confirmation that it is Sands.
For his family's sake, I hope it's him. How awful for them to have wait so long to find out what happened.
The remains have been officially confirmed to be Julian Sands https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-64328590
I just saw this this news and was on my way to post it. Terrible news, but like auntiehill said, at least this knowledge helps his family.
Finding him with so much snow pack is gonna be challenging. I usually prefer to hike CA mountains in the fall after the snow has mostly melted. I’m really surprised he didn’t carry with him some Sat device. I carry an inreach mini whenever I go hiking.
