The current round of Phase V films should have the real world calendar catch up to the MCU calendar. I'm assuming that Phase IV covered about a year of time in-universe. Is that about right?

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special special takes place during Christmas season 2025, while the Christmas season seen on Hawkeye was 2024.

Is that specifically confirmed, or just inferred? I'm not saying it's wrong or anything, it's just that I assumed given the context of the story that this would be the first Christmas after Gamora left; hence the (somewhat misplaced) desire to cheer Peter up. You'd think if it's 2025 then it would have come up way before now . . . unless Kraglin is just really bad at checking the multi-calendar and didn't happen to look at it the previous year. Which sounds just the right kind of dumb to be credible.

Well, on screen evidence places Ms Marvel after March of 2025. Seeing as the Guardians holiday special is the latest release, and it has been described as the "epilogue" of phase 4, I assume it takes place of Christmas of that year.

Right, so it's more inferred than confirmed? Not that it matters much either way, I just felt having it be almost two years post Endgame feels a little counter-intuitive, and it's not like there's anything going on here that directly ties into any other movie, save perhaps 'Love & Thunder' I suppose (though even that can be worked around.)

Well, in a world where Iron Man II, Thor and Captain America: First Avenger all happened in the same week; and, Civil War happened in both 2016 and 2020 you know, it's like Dr Who's unit dating innit?
Yup, which is why I don't worry about it. When you have mistakes like Homecoming (one they've openly acknowledged that they messed up the timing), I know there's no point thinking too much about it.

That's actually Iron Man 2, Thor and The Incredible Hulk. The framing sequence of Captain America The First Avenger takes place almost a year later, in the weeks leading up to Avengers.

I don't know if anyone with Marvel Studios has ever confirmed this, but I feel like part of the reason for the 5-year time jump was so they could be a little more flexible with the timeline of events going forward.

Danai Gurira was on Colbert last night and he asked her about the Okoye series rumors (starts at 4:20):

Gurira says she has been told that she can "gently allude to this possibility."

Sounds like a confirmation of a Midnight Sisters show to me!!! :D

Yeah that one was bizarre. Like it would have taken all of a 2 min google to double-check and nobody bothered, even once?
The situation with the first Dr Strange movie is also a bit of a head-scratcher, though that feels more like a disconnect between scripting and production. As in it was written with the intent of the first act/prologue taking place much earlier and the whole film stretched out over the course of several years, with only the climax bring it up-to-date, but for whatever reason they dropped that idea in production, but didn't bother to excise all the tell-tales in the script.
Personally I wish they'd actually gone with that approach. It's nice when a hero's journey takes more than a long weekend to complete. Especially when post traumatic injury rehabilitation is involved.

Been rereading the old Defenders series from the 70s. Crossed my mind we now have Dr. Strange, Hulk, and Sub-Mariner in the MCU.
Where's my Defenders movie Marvel????
We also have the Valkyrie.
Where's my Defenders movie Marvel????
I'd like to Nighthawk in the MCU
Where's my Defenders movie Marvel????
Oh and they should have the Silver Surfer in like one scene, only for all future movies to pretend like he was an integral and constant part of the original line up!

This show looks like a lot of fun!

Yes, please, to both of these!!

Well, if you needed proof that the incel/intelligentcia crowd out there is a very vocal minority, here it is. Ms Marvel ranked number one and She-Hulk ranked number two in the category of superhero shows for 2022..

Thanks for posting that. Both were great shows that showed that the MCU is big enough to contain different types of stories and a wider range of characters. I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of the pacing and story in Ms. Marvel, but I loved the characters and actors.
