News Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania anticipation thread

Damn this looks even better with this trailer than it did with the first. My only issue is that I do agree that MODOK does looks kind of weird. I'm thinking they might have been better off going something a bit more stylized than just using the actor (Corey Stoll?)'s face. That kind of things works in comics, and animation, and even worked OK in the Avengers game from a year or two ago, but done this realistically it just looks a little too weird.

We'll probably see this in the theatres. I actually like the way the Ant Man films started off low key and almost inconsequential to the events going on in the larger universe, but seem to take centre stage, kicking off the big second act of this MCU story line. It seems like a number of pieces have been put in place during Phase IV that are now going to start paying off. As for the huge CGI fest, I enjoy it with the recent films because they are so far over the top dealing with the multiverse. After the Secret Wars battle earth finale, I'm hoping that the next phase reaches out to explore our space elements. I'd love to see the Silver Surfer and Galactus, the Kree/Shi'ar conflict, Nova, and others--I'm really hoping for the MCU take on the Annihilation story line.

After seeing the trailer during Avatar I want to see this in the theater in 3D which made those CG backdrops really shine.

The problem I have with that is that Avatar looks so good because it was filmed with the intention of being seen in 3D. I'm not sure what it is exactly but the way its filmed gives you a broader view of the backgrounds, even when they are out of focus. Movies that have been converted to 3D don't seem to offer that experience.

^ I hear ya but I was pretty impressed with what I saw in the Quantumania trailer in 3D. It looked a lot better than I remembered from watching it at home giving some life and separation to all those cluttered rings and what not.

Sounds good. Tech has improved since the last time I saw a 3D upgrade. And I missed the trailer when I went to see Avatar.

Jonathan Majors as Kang looks very good and I'm sure Paul Rudd will deliver as always. The actual Quantum Realm itself looks disappointing with the murky cinematography. (I'll never watch it in 3D so that doesn't help.)

They can put "and the Wasp" in the title all they want but it's very clearly still an Ant-Man movie with Rudd as the lead. Hope doesn't even get a line in the trailer.

Finally saw the new trailer. That was one of the best trailers I’ve seen from Marvel is a couple years. Really looking forward to this movie now.

Here is a complete recap of the Ant-Man story so far.

This was done by the same guy who did the massive 5-hour and 15 minutes chronological recap of the MCU that I posted in the main MCU thread. The Endgame recap is probably a little too detailed for the needs of an Ant-Man video and the Loki recap probably wasn't necessary at all because that's not the version of Kang that we're going to meet in the movie, but still entertaining.

Is this new? This looks like the 3D trailer shown at Avatar and has some interesting effects breaking through the frame of the picture. Now they're breaking the second wall!

I look forward to watching it once it hits Disney+. I'm done with theatres.

I love comics but I find the marvel films so-so - I'll watch this on streaming but would not pay to see it in a cinema.

The 3D looked at least passable when I saw this before avatar - GOTG looks genuinely terrible - like cardboard cutouts.
