So, there will be a new version of the Suicide Squad? And some current actors will be staying on. Perhaps Gadot and Momoa?
There is not enough salt in the universe for this one. Either they really have a plan to continue with the established cast, just in a new continuity, or they don't know at this point what to do with the Snyder continuity and how to switch over.
Hypothetical: The filmed DC universe would be in better shape today if WB had fired Snyder after the disappointing reception of 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' and wrote off Justice League instead of trying to course correct the perceived shortcomings of the Snyder-verse. A full on reboot then would have been better received.

Ray Fisher seems to have gone off the deep end. Now he's going after James Gunn.

I believe it is actually the opposite. If the studio had kept their fingers out of BvS and JL, and allowed Snyder to make the films he wanted to make then they would have a successful franchise today. Maybe not Marvel money--but profitable. Snyders extended cut of BvS really improved the film over the theatrical version and it would have made more sense to audiences who don't know the characters. Snyder's theatrical Justice League wouldn't have been four hours long of course, but a 2.5 hour film would have worked well.
Taking BvS' theatrical version into consideration, the studio did not tinker with a story so strong to the point that anyone would not know exactly where and how BvS leads to ZSJL.
My passionate friends
I wanted to give you a long-awaited Black Adam update regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe.
James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling. However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.
James and I have known each other for years and have always rooted for each other to succeed. It’s no different now, and I will always root for DC (and Marvel) to win and WIN BIG.
You guys know me, and I have very thick skin – and you can always count on me to be direct with my words.
These decisions made by James and DC leadership represent their vision of DCU through their creative lens.
After 15 years of relentless hard work to finally make Black Adam, I’m very proud of the film we delivered for fans worldwide. I will always look back on the fan reaction to Black Adam with tremendous gratitude, humility and love.
We did great.
To my very passionate and vocal Black Adam/Super Hero genre fans – I love you, THANK YOU, and I will ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOU and do my best to deliver and entertain you.
What a helluva month – now we all need some Teremana!
Have a productive week and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your families!
So there's still hope for a Birds of Prey sequel? I'll have to read the whole article for context but maybe?https://www.ign.com/articles/james-gunn-responds-to-dcu-plan-backlash-period-of-turbulence

When one user asked about plans to recast all of the main DCU, Gunn called it an "untrue theory," and said they weren't "recasting everyone except The Suicide Squad."

Gunn has also tweeted to say that he can’t wait to collaborate (with The Rock and Seven Buck) soon

What's his problem? He had valid complaints about Whedon, but Gunn hasn't done anything to him.
No, he didn't. Alan Tudyk posted a message of support for Whedon, if one could say that much, because all it said was that he never encountered any of the kind of problems when working with Whedon as were described in the allegations, and Gunn liked that message. Tudyk later apologized, saying he was not involved in the conflict and as such shouldn't have interjected as he did, that he shouldn't have posted that message, which Gunn then also read, reflected on, and agreed that he himself shouldn't have liked the original message as he didn't really know the situation, and apologized for liking a tweet. And Fisher apparently still can't let that go.Gunn posted a message of support for Whedon when allegations first came out.
It's gonna get real ugly online if some actors are kept but not Cavill. He's the one that seems more endeared in fans' hearts. It would also come off as quite hypocritical if Gunn is saying(I'm assuming he's saying) he wants a fresh take but still keeps some and not others.
I thought they had said that Gadot was still in the Flash movie, it was just a scene with Cavill that was cut.
Didn't he say the same thing about Cavill? I'll eat my spleen if we ever see Dwayne in a DC movie again.
He did say the same about Cavill when he announced Cavill was not in the new Superman movie. There is nothing to say Cavill will not be returning at some point.
