Brock Purdy, Iowa State, the last pick of the 2022 draft.
That's really troubling news, but Purdy did hold his own yesterday. The 49ers might not need an elite QB to win based on how that defense looks.
With do-it-all back McCaffrey they might be able to hold off the Seahawks (but probably not).

Seems like an odd firing, they’ve collected a lot of talent there. I imagine Vrabel’s seat has to be pretty toasty as well.
Nah, that's unlikely. Vrabel's led the Titans to 2 AFC South titles in a row and looks poised to do it again. Granted the division is down, but he's got them to the playoffs 3 years in a row and they're rarely completely outmatched.
It really is an odd firing though, to be sure. I wonder if it has anything to do with the O-line/QB situation. I like Tannehill - he's a good soldier and more than competent, I've always been happy we have him, but Malik Willis.... did not impress as the backup. Plus given the year AJ Brown is having I wonder if that didn't help a little bit.
And sadly Derrick Henry won't last forever, just like Chris Johnson didn't, or Eddie George before him.

With only one healthy quarterback left (our 3rd stringer), there’s not much else to do.
The Kyle Allen era is over. Davis Mills to start again for Houston. Neither guy is going to be the starting QB next year. I was going to ask why they don't give the next guy a chance, but it turns out the QB on the practice squad has been in the NFL for seven years (Jeff Driskel), so probably not gonna happen for him at this point either.
OBJ might not even be able to play until January. Then you have to decide what other WR gets moved aside or cut altogether.
