Yes, it's a standing set Shatner( and other Trek Actors, personalities)Visit. He visits the set a couple times a year.
It's a licensed museum in Ticonderoga New York.
The man's flight was late and he had very little sleep.
The masks were requested at the last minute to Protect Mr. Shatner.
I believe folks taking pictures with him DID NOT wear the masks. I have NO idea what the costs were. You and others can visit the set's web site for all the info you what/need.
What gets me is that the take away here( and to be fair in other social media outlets I have posted this experience on) by some is not, meeting Shatner, Doing an Actor's Workshop with him on the fights seen on the show, Talking to him about his life...but about Masks that were worn to protect a very tired 91 Year old man, who insisted on fulfilling his obligations to all the fans who paid-- the significant-- sum for a meet and greet...
You have to love social Media.
