Spoilers Andor season one

\To be fair, Bik already knows about the ISB and calls them the worst of the worst, so they have a reputation. One well earned. The Empire did crush the Mid Rim and Outer Rim and forcibly integrated the Sepratists back early on. But before, the empire was harsh but could be waived away as 'fair', and most of the Republican core and mid rim loved it. But now it's clamping down on everyone over a meagre 80,000,000 creds.

The conversation was that one poster said that we're seeing how the evil in the Empire is spreading and how officers are embracing darkness and cruelty.

And then Ding Dong said, "But, but Emperor and Vader and Sith, blah blah."

And then I said, "yeah, but the point was that evil was infecting normal people, not just Sith...."

And then the conversation got stupider from there. But the original intent was just an observation about how evil has slowly crept and spread through rank-and-file members of the Imperial hierarchy.

Luke is the new hope.

Why did they send it by FedEx though?

Considering how Rebels went, they would need a "new" hope by the time of Scariff. The last hope sort of disappeared.

How would that be unfeasible?

Because the show is an absolute bear to produce and neither Luna nor Gilroy wanted to devote the next ten years of their life to it, since each season roughly takes two years all told to finish. So they decided that two seasons would be enough.

In 1977 that was just some hot chick that Luke was going to bone, and probably marry some day.

Besides a 19 year old senator?

That is ridiculous, Unless this is the last days of Rome where everything is decadent and emperor's new clothes. I say that t he character was probably supposed to be almost 30? The same age as Han Solo.

The Skywakers were not twins, and the 1970s audience would have been disgusted if she was older than Han, trying to seduce these two boy children in the movie into giving up their cherries, to make this wrinkled old maid feel young again.

What a 1970s audience would think about a thirty year old woman trying to grab a 19 year old ass: Disgusting predator.

Sunset Boulevade or the Graduate?

Gloria was 51, vs William's 32.

Anne was 36, vs Dustin's 30.

Only retroactively, is Leia also equally a new hope which isn't even true, Leia is only a new hope if Luke dies, which happened in a comic I read once, because politically or martially she only becomes noticeable after a dozen people above her in the rebellion hierarchy dies, including Mon Mothma, which is probably where we are at in the sequel trilogy.

In the same universe where a fourteen year old can be elected planetary leader, and isn't even the youngest elected leader at that.

I'm not sure why I started talking about how a 70s audience would feel, while only knowing what a 70s audience would know, but I did, so a 70s audience has not seen the Phantom Menace.

A modern audience knows many things that a seventies audience did not.

There's a behind the scenes Doc made between Star Wars and Empire where Mark and Harrison are fencing over whether Luke or Han is going to bag the Princess, in front of Carrie. At the time it was cute, then it was incestuous, and then it was misogynous (and incestuous).
