DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

The trailers I've seen make it look a pretty brainless film - which I don't mind if the action scenes are good but I would not pay money to see in a cinema.

Yeah, I want an entertaining 2 hours. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece.

Which is basically all I really need. Looking forward to coming home from work at 19.30 on a Saturday and watch this with some snacks and a few good beers. Sounds like fun.

Remember kids and haters? When we watched movies to entertain ourselves and NOT be silly whiny entitled fanboys on the interwebz?

You pirating it or what?

Don't try to be a smarta&$ because I said something to you a few days ago you didn't like.

I'm waiting for the streaming release. I don't pirate because it A) hurts the industry and B) I don't trust pirating websites.

Is HBO still honoring their streaming after 45 days rule? I think Zaslav got rid of it. You might have to wait until after Thanksgiving.

I am one those weird odd illegal non-USA people. You know, the majority of the world? Meaning I have no clue when the Dutch Netflix/HBO/Prime/Whatever will offer it to me as part of my subscription. Again, you're trying to play the 'more clever than thou are card' when really.....it,

Shit, that's me being that kinda a-hole myself.....

Getting HBO Max outside the US isn’t that hard. It’s probably isn’t worth it since most of their products will be on other services in your area. I haven’t used it myself since March. I’ll probably subscribe again for Titans next month since that’s the one show that doesn’t seem to be on any other service.

You’re not even going to see it because of the post credit scene?
The mid-credits scene is why I'll definitely buy the Blu. Not worth going to the theater for two lines -- which I've already seen/heard anyway, thanks to YouTube.

(Those three oh-so-familiar musical notes over the scene, however, are a beautiful thing.)

By the time we get to a Justice League sequel (if they indeed go that way), a decade will have passed in real time for Batman. A young Jonathan is more than possible.

For all we know, a JL sequel might pick up right where Black Adam or Aquaman 2 end, and if either film does not take place long after JL (meaning a decade), at best, Lois would have a toddler, and that's fine. Any older, and its running into Superman and Lois territory.

One of the biggest mistakes of the start of the DCU was starting with the end of Batman's career (Robin's dead, Dark Knight Returns influence, etc, Affleck ain't no spring chicken anymore). It was already built on a shaky foundation, they can't turn back on that now if they want to keep using Affleck, which they appear do.

Which is why their internal timeline will not jump so far into the future. As far as Affleck's age goes, going back a few years, the films did not have him act or move like he's ready for to sign up for his AARP membership--certainly not with the physicality on display in Dawn of Justice or ZSJL. If Nick Fury could survive the assassination attempt--including a bomb detonated under his vehicle--in The Winter Soldier, and he's far older (think of when his career began) and nowhere near the physical conditioning of Affleck's Batman, I'd say Wayne has more good years ahead of him.

Given the promotion, and the star power, I think Black Adam is indeed intended to be the kickoff for the new phase of the DCEU. However with a projected opening of just $45 million they might need another kickstarter movie before they should do a JL movie again. Perhaps that will be the aforementioned MOS 2.

Those are the movies I always see in the theater. I usually make sure to see these kind of big blockbuster effects heavy action movies at the theater, and on the biggest screens at the theater I go too. These kind of movies really need to be seen on the big screen at least once to get the full experience.
Hell, it's been 8 years, and I'm still kicking myself for not seeing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in the theater.

Pretty much all of the streaming services are doing the 45 days thing for movies released by their parent company, so I'm assuming HBOMax is.
