My observations:
- Picard is clearly eating schnitzel (schnitty here in Aus) and chips (or fish and chips) - solidifying his Englishness than Frenchness! Also is that Guinan's bar (looks like her picture above Picard when he's eating)
- That scene with Troi staring blankly into the screen on La Sirena - worried that scene precedes a huge explosion and she dies (remember Terry said that no ones safety is guaranteed)
- Lore looks a look humanish?
- Vadek's ship looks like a Kelvinverse Romulan design (yet the bridge looks almost Klingon) - makes you question what kind of tie-back to a TNG villain or otherwise given the rest of the villains are (or is someone bringing all the villains back to one place for a reason?)
- Could the Enterprise-F's Captain be another spoiler we've yet to see?
- Where does that Enterprise D/E fit into this? While hoping to see the D, I think the E should at least get a final outing/honourable mention.
- I wonder if Moriarty's character is a sub-plot i.e. (just the plot for one episode) as a stalling tactic for someone's escape etc.? Seems like if they knew he was a threat to the crew they might activate him to keep them occupied.
Fun fact: I also like to see where villains names may come from/may imply based on their translations:
Latvian - Vadek means lead
Hindi - player
Bangla - the musician
Afrikaans - father
Generally speaking though, Vadek can means a spiritual person who relies on intuition for decision-making (e.g. "vengeance")

I don't know what to expect after the disappointing season 2. I am happy they look like they are going to be in space a lot and bringing back Moriarty has me intrigued. Not really sure I like another let's end the federation Galaxy sized threat though. Still from where I was at the end of season 2 to now, my enthusiasm has improved from a 2 to about a 6.

I don't think that's what's happening here, it sounds like the villain is only after Picard and Co.
I love that the Enterprise-F is now canonically an Odyssey-class--I've actually own three different versions of the ship from Eaglemoss--but I do feel that her arrival is too early. This makes her the third Enterprise in 35 years or so...it's not a good track record as far as longevity for ships with the name, IMO. Kind of wish they had bucked the trend by keeping the Enterprise-E around a bit longer.
All those ships around Spacedock, just an average day in STO, there's fireworks in the shots too, which may lead credence to RMBs mention of a celebration.

And she's already in service in 2402 so that could mean she was launched years earlier. She may be on her second decade of service by now.
The quote about ashes and the federation makes it seem bigger than just picard and crew though.
If they were going with a whole new design for the F, I'd probably be fine with it being in this season, but since they're not, I wish they'd just kept the E around.
