So was it a blank and you missed it moment?

Barry Keoghan seems like he would be an excellent replacement (lookwise) for Ezra Miller if needed.

Mostly yeah. It's a fun little thing when you know it though.

You’re the second person I’ve seen/heard say that. That’d definitely be an intriguing prospect.

Yeah, I agree with Morpheus as well. I wasn't a fan of Eternals but I think Keoghan has what it takes, I enjoyed his performance.
Here's the thing though, if he is tied to The Batman as the new Joker, will they be ok with him being part of the DCEU? I mean, The Batman is a different playground/universe/whatever, but it is WB.

It’d take a braver man than me to try to predict WB’s actions.

Of course, neither The Batman 2 nor a Flash sequel have been greenlit yet. But if they both were and if he were in the frame for a recast Barry, they might take the view that a short cameo at the end/mid credits of The Batman isn’t so binding that he has to come back, if they feel he can do more good as the lead in another WB franchise, while they can cast a new Joker.

Or, as you say, since The Batman is doing its own thing, they may feel that the two are distinct enough to let him do both.

But, like I say, I wouldn’t like to predict WB’s actions.

I wouldn't get excited at anything Warner Bros has announced at this point until it's actually released and more than test audiences have seen it.

They've pretty much killed any interest in their stuff with their antics. At least on my end.

The fact that there's no greenlight on Batman 2 yet has me completely unimpressed with the heads of WB-D.

*EDIT* Decided to do some googling, and checked the trivia section in IMDB. He's an officer actually, and that was filmed on purpose so people would get the impression he was playing an officer of the law in the movie, not the Joker.

Much like how Zoe Kravitz was on set for the funeral scene but they pulled a fast one on us and had another actress in the final scene

Marvel- We like to hide/edit out our secrets when the trailers get released

Matt Reeves- Hold my beer.

Not many movies I've followed have decided to be that clever with filming fake outs/decoys.

So it appears that Barry Keoghan first auditioned for the role of the Riddler by sending in an unsolicited audition tape, which you can see here

And the actor confirms he hasn’t been asked to appear in a sequel yet https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/culture/article/barry-keoghan-interview-2022/amp

^ Looks like he's trying out for Alex in Clockwork Orange

So it appears that Barry Keoghan ...hasn’t been asked to appear in a sequel yet

Nothing against Keoghan but I'd just as soon DC steer clear of the Joker for a while. Between Nicholson, Ledger, Leto and Phoenix, I'm pretty much all Jokered out and it isn't as if Batman doesn't have one of, if not, the best rogue's galleries in comics. And we already have Farrell's Penguin established and apparently taking over Gotham's mob operations.

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree. I think if he does appear, he might be best used as he was in the deleted scene from The Batman, in a sort of Hannibal Lecter-in-Red-Dragon role, an unlikely imprisoned ally for our hero.

There's definitely a lot of ACO there but I detect more than a hint of Frank Gorshin as well.
