So apparently The Bat Man was popular in Nigeria.

A couple things distracted me from the overall "grounded" feel:

1. Batman falling hard on the ground from way up high, and getting up and staggering a little, and walking away relatively unscathed.
2. The explosion going off right in Batman's face and him making it through relatively unscathed. Padded Batman armor or no, it should have done a lot more than knock him unconscious for a bit.

But stuff like that is standard action movie fare.

Loved it. Pattison did a great job. Absolutely loved Zoe Kravitz as Selina/Catwoman and best of all no silliness or overdone CGI.

F.

Way too much felt like just watching scenes from other movie adaptations I had seen before. With the earlier ones being either much better or this new one at least making the same mistakes.

Pattinson was pretty much just playing Bale Batman, but not as good/well, but with a few Keatonisms added in, that approach felt very cynical.

Dano and Farrell were so disappointing when they could have been really good. It was bizarre how for long stretches Catwoman was just ignored and then showed up again and focused on, Penguin was forgotten and later showed up, even near the end Riddler was pretty forgotten about. Turturro makes almost anything better and he did so with his scenes, was pretty great in them, Wright makes most things better and did improve most of his scenes but they weren't enough compared to everything else.

Finally saw this last night. Justice League was 4 hours but felt like 2. This was 3 hours and felt like 3. It was fine and competent but nothing special.

I also have to point out I struggled a bit with The Batman doing his detective thing with the police... dressed like that. It was difficult to take seriously.

Also he had those silver arrow things on his wrists for the whole movie and I kept waiting for him to unleash them but he never did.

I got my special collectors 4K steelbook. Picture quality is good but I wish they gave it the BvS treatment and used the imax expanded picture. Feels like I’m missing stuff.

Yeah, reviews of IMAX screenings indicate that the movie had the same aspect ratio throughout.... strange since apparently an actual IMAX-approved camera or two were used somewhere in the filming.

Although I liked this film I have to say it hasn’t stayed with me in the same way I felt after first seeing Batman Begins when it debuted. Thinking about it now I still like Batman Begins better.

Well, that was the worst Batman movie ever made. And considering how utterly bad The Dark Knight was, that's one hell of an achievement.

Usually, one of my big yard sticks to measure whether I liked a blockbuster style action movie or not is my desire to see it again.

I didn't hate this movie, but I have zero desire to see it again, so I guess that says something right there. I like Batman dark and noir, but dayum, that was so dark I couldn't even get behind the hero.

Yeah, thats a fair point. It was…dreary.

Yeah, I don't care to see it again either, but I might somewhere down the road just to see if my initial reaction still holds. I love Batman alot, but this movie was disapointing.

Watched this again last night.... suddenly noticed something.

Barry Keoghan is on IMDB as Unseen Arkham Prisoner, and as uncredited for The Joker in the deleted scene. Ok, we knew this.
But I noticed that the valet taking Bruce's car during the funeral scene for the Mayor looks a lot like Barry. Did anyone else notice this?

*EDIT* Decided to do some googling, and checked the trivia section in IMDB. He's an officer actually, and that was filmed on purpose so people would get the impression he was playing an officer of the law in the movie, not the Joker.

So was it a blank and you missed it moment?

Barry Keoghan seems like he would be an excellent replacement (lookwise) for Ezra Miller if needed.
