Remember, JJ Abrams pitched to CBS a massive multimedia Trek universe with shows, movies, games and books in 2013. They said no. Now they're trying it with Kurtzman (just without the movies... or books... and I think there's one game coming), who was there with Abrams for the first two movies.

I can't believe they never did any Discovery/Kelvin stuff. Wasn't Discovery set at the same time as 09 at one point? Have any Kelvin uniforms showed up in Prime as easter eggs? I know they've mentioned the universe, but come on.

Where would the uniforms from another universe have seamlessly shown up in Discovery while they were still in that era?

In the actual show, I'd say when they are talking about Kelvin timeline in Season 3, albeit the TNG Season 1 uniform kinda does the exact some thing there in being an easter egg and is more appropriate being a century later. Other than that, I'm not sure, maybe just on some screen somewhere or just some dude is walking around in the background wearing one. I dunno. I guess I was thinking of how Tuvok once wears Mirror Tuvok's uniform and didn't really put much thought into it.

No. That was just wishful thinking. Its been established that they are separate universes.

No I got that, but I think in each universe 09 and parts of Discovery are both set in 2258. I'm not saying they should have and story wise it probably wouldn't fit, but the part of me that appreciates crossovers would have thought it cool. Like if SNW did a multiverse hopping episode and they jumped past one where all you saw was the Kelvin Enterprise and moved on I think that would be dope.

Heh, okay, that might be fun.
It's funny that Star Trek has been doing the multiverse since before that was even a term!
(Going back farther than Trek 09, of course, but still, 2 Spock's played by 2 different actors meeting and yet everyone goes nuts when Spider-Man does it...)

Is that the case? Since there are books for DIS & PIC, and DIS is a part of STO. And there were games for the Kelvinverse, including a VR game.

The Kelvin books stopped being produced along with all the other lit Trek stuff after DIS came on the air.

While an excuse can be made for ENT that it didn’t sell well to justify ceasing production, I don’t see how the same case could be made for the Kelvin series. It was still new, and used the most popular characters in Trek. There was a lot more mileage in that universe.

DIS S2 for ST’09. And now for 2259, SNW S1 and Into Darkness.

That was young Spock meeting his future self after the past was altered. And young Spock wasn't established yet.

Spiderman was alternate realities being pulling into a single reality. with all the Spidermans being previously established.

I was shocked when it turned out there WAS something to the "Kelvin crew meets the Discovery crew" movie pitch stories that were floating around a year or two ago. So sure, why not have them meet a rebooted TNG cast.

Sadly they'll never get to stand on their own, Paramount don't have faith they can. That said, the movie is very likely to do poorly so, don't blame them.

Giant Freakin Robot? Yeah, I wouldn't bet anything valuable on it being remotely true.

    No to the Next generation.
I only went to see Generations becouse it had William Shatner in it.
After that I stoped watching the films

So...there's no interest in a Kelvin film, regardless of content?

The cast is interested in making it but they haven’t seen a script.

Kalinda Vasquez I know is working on her own Netflix show (i.e create, write and produce) in addition to the script to the next movie. I think she’s still working on Discovery too. I know from experience that a script can be done in a week, if there are no other projects to focus on. She clearly has a full plate, though she was chosen by Paramount to write the script.

And even if she did get the script done, I sure that there is a lot of wrangling behind the scene over who gets cast. And possible rewrites if there are scheduling conflicts.

Obviously the director recently walking away from the film hasn’t made it any easier.

I was curious about the poster specifically since Shatner hadn't been in a film since Generations. So, was curious if the Kelvin films had any appeal.
