This past summer has truly belonged to Top Gun: Maverick. It was a huge success, whether it be financially, critically, or with audience reactions. In honor of this success, the theme for this avatar contest is aircraft pilots in TV, film, prose and comics.

I will, however, exclude the Top Gun films themselves, to keep this fair for everyone. SciFi and Fantasy are also excluded.
As usual, entries may not be bigger than 200x200 pixels and/or 1 Mb data, and must be safe-for-work. I'll give three entries per user.

I meant as in cover illustrations. Obviously, a picture of a text page would qualify by the rules, but wouldn't make for an appealing avatar, but I'm also aware that with Biggles there's at least one series of prose fiction featuring the exploits of an ace pilot, so I didn't want to exclude those.

Come to think of it, I didn't include video games, which is an oversight on my part. Video games are also good as a source.
